On a wall 260 cm high with the full crop (about 460 cm wide), the visible part of the head measures about 210 cm, and the dark muzzle sits low, about 50 cm above the floor. The forehead and nose are creamy white, the forelock and mane dark grey, and under the neck lies a deep, brown-grey shadow. The neck and back run towards the right side of the picture and dissolve into pale, broad patches. The background is a smooth beige. On the left, at the height of the horse's forehead, a horizontal band of terracotta crosses it; a small rusty accent returns by the right edge. In a study it suits a light oak desk and a chair upholstered in terracotta-coloured leather. In a bedroom the same colours return in cream bedding and a rust-coloured wool throw. In every one of these rooms one rule applies: the horse's muzzle is low, so place the furniture by the right part of the wall and leave the floor free in front of the left.
