Here warm sand rises from the bottom in vertical streaks with visible brushstrokes, and above it stand just two slender, solitary trees; one of them has a pale, lacy crown at the top. The entire right half is filled with a dense grove of the palest white trees with fine, tangled twigs that reach almost to the top edge. The background is light grey, slightly cooler towards the top, with warm patches of sand along the left edge. The palette is made up of light grey, white, warm sand and ivory. On a wall 260 cm high, the tallest trees in the grove measure about 230 cm, and the calm left section is about 150 cm wide.
