On the right of the image grows another pair. The cream plumes with a sandy tint rise on long, bare stems, and in the lower part of the image sparse, long ecru blades cross one another. The background is a warm taupe, close to a mushroom shade, with vertical brushstrokes that give the wall a painterly texture. On a wall 260 cm high, the image is about 462 cm wide, the tallest plumes are about 100 cm long, and each clump takes up about 140–160 cm of width.
