They fall into three loose groups. On the left side of the image the leaves pile up one above another from the upper quarter all the way down. In the middle two fans reach almost to the top edge, and on the right the tallest leaf rises high above two wide fans set at mid-height.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe leaves are semi-transparent: where they overlap, you can see the outline of the fan behind. At the bases they have beige-brown shading and fine, radiating veins. The background is a warm grey with marbled veining and lighter clouds at the top; the top band stays almost empty, and the leaves become more numerous towards the bottom.
