The full leaves look as if laid on in a thick layer of paint – that impression comes from the print, not from a raised surface.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFrom beneath the leaves come ribbons of hundreds of thin cream lines. In the lower part of the middle they curl into large loops and then run towards the right edge. The right-hand third of the image is mainly the calm, jade ground.
