ALABASTER COVE - white marble wall mural with gold for living rooms

An almost white wall on which one thing happens: from a gold patch on the left of the image, veins flow horizontally to a turquoise cove on the right. The rest is creamy white with a blue shadow. This white and gold marble wall mural brightens the living room and gives it one strong but small accent of colour.

What can you see in the design?

ALABASTER COVE has a creamy white background with a delicate grey-blue shadow in the top left; soft, milky transitions resemble alabaster or white marble. At the left edge, at mid-height, lies a patch of matt gold – on a wall 260 cm high it is about 80 cm long. Gold veins run out from it horizontally through the centre and then drop into a deep turquoise cove at the right edge, below mid-height. The cove is about 130 cm wide, and a pale gold line arcs around it. A second bundle of veins leaves the centre downwards, towards the bottom edge. The top right corner is almost white. The colours flow into one another smoothly, like spilled ink.

The twin TRAVERTINE ATLAS has the reverse layout and a warmer background: there the turquoise rises in an arc from the bottom left corner, and the stone-like pattern is creamy beige, more densely veined. Here the turquoise sits on the right, and the background is whiter and smoother.

What kind of interior does it suit?

In a living room the design needs a wide wall, because its subject is the journey from gold to turquoise. In our room setting it is a living room in a Paris apartment building: a low, rounded cream sofa stands below the main vein, with a round travertine coffee table in front of it. Cream fabrics, pale oak and brass blend into the wall, so a single cushion or vase in turquoise is enough to give the cove an echo in the room. The design also has the scale needed in shared spaces: in a hotel lobby with low armchairs the background stays light and the turquoise reads clearly from a distance. The third suggestion is a dressing room or a corner with a dressing table, where the section with the cove replaces a picture above the tabletop.

How do you choose the size and material?

The design is a single image that we print to the size of your wall; nothing in it repeats. You choose the width, height, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. The file has a 16:9 ratio, which means that at a height of 260 cm the full composition is about 460 cm wide. The gold patch and the turquoise cove sit at opposite edges, so both will fit in the frame only on a wall of close to that width; on a narrower wall choose one of them.
