Collection: Backgrounds

Neutral background wallpaper – subtle gradients and room to breathe

Background wallpaper from DECOMURA is for anyone who wants their walls quiet and calm. Not every space needs a bold pattern – sometimes the best choice is a subtle background that supports rather than dominates. The Backgrounds collection offers delicate gradients, ombrés, and neutral color transitions that create room to breathe. Perfect as a discreet base for furniture, art, and accessories, where the wall becomes a calm backdrop for life.

Backgrounds was born from the belief that simplicity is a luxury. In a world oversaturated with stimuli, a calm background is a coveted thing. Our gradients are anything but boring – they are refined, considered, artistic. Subtle color transitions add depth and atmosphere without an excess of pattern.

Which background should you choose?

Our background wallpapers vary in character and use. For minimalist calm, we recommend solid gradients in muted colors – grays, beiges, muted blues. For a home office, professional, neutral video-call backgrounds are ideal. For a bedroom, choose gradients in calm, soothing tones. For modern living rooms, subtle ombrés with an artistic character work beautifully.

Gradients and ombré – depth without pattern

Gradients are subtle transitions between colors – from light to dark, or between shades. Ombré is a type of gradient characteristic of contemporary design. These techniques add depth to a wall without introducing a distinct pattern. Perfect for minimalists who want more than a flat wall, but less than a bold pattern.

Home office backgrounds – professional video calls

Avoid chaotic, distracting patterns – a neutral gradient looks professional and doesn't draw attention away from your face. Check out our Home Office collection for more inspiration.

Materials and finishes

For gradients, we recommend Mura Vinyl Canvas – its matte finish beautifully captures subtle color transitions without unwanted reflections. DECOMURA printing reproduces delicate gradients perfectly, with no visible banding or artifacts. A matte finish is key – a glossy finish would disturb the calm of a neutral background.

Minimalism takes courage – beauty in simplicity

Choosing a neutral background isn't a compromise – it's a conscious aesthetic decision. Minimalism takes courage and confidence. A wallpaper that doesn't shout, but quietly supports the rest of the interior, lets other elements shine. Your furniture, art, plants – everything gains significance when the background is calm and harmonious. Backgrounds is a philosophy, not a compromise.

Gradients and emotion – the psychology of color

Colors affect our emotions and well-being. Blue gradients calm the mind and support focus. Warm beiges create coziness and a sense of security. Grays are neutral and professional. Powder pinks add romance and delicacy. Choose a gradient that supports the mood of the room – nothing works by accident.

Backgrounds pair best with collections that keep a calm visual mood or add a refined texture. For broader context, see our artistic wall murals, a bolder material is shown by concrete and clouds, and darker botanicals are led by graphite garden. A practical use for this kind of motif is also a background for the wall behind the TV.
