Collection: Aspen Grove

Slender white trees with lacy branches emerge from the mist against warm sand, ivory and pale blue-grey, while the lower part of the wall is covered with scuffs, drips or cracks like old plaster. Aspen Grove brings together 13 calm wall murals for bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms and hallways in a Japandi or Scandinavian style, as well as for hotels and spas. The designs share a palette and a painterly texture, and differ in the arrangement of the trees and mist.

How do you choose a design from this collection?

  • Start with the layout. If you want the trees to frame a bed or sofa on both sides, look at STILL GLADE: two groups of trunks frame the wall, while the centre is left as open mist. PROCESSION sets the trees out in an even row across the full width, like columns. In RIME BOUGHS, LIMEWASH WOODS and CRAQUELURE, the lightest trees stand in the right-hand part of the image.
  • Match the colour temperature to the light. For a wall in cool, north-facing light, choose a design with plenty of warm sand and ochre, such as STILL GLADE with its warm lower half or FALLOW GROUND with a broad band of ochre in the lower left. Beside a large south-facing window, RIME BOUGHS and WHITE THAW will feel lighter, with the brightest white trees filling the right-hand side against a blue-grey or almost white background. EQUINOX combines both temperatures: the left half is warm, the right half cool.
  • Decide how much plaster texture you want to see. CRAQUELURE and PROCESSION have pronounced cracks and peeling plaster at the bottom. LINEN HUSH, LIMEWASH WOODS and FALLOW GROUND have almost no cracks. Bear in mind that the lower band of the design is often hidden by furniture.
  • Match the material to the design. Mura Vinyl Canvas adds the texture of natural canvas, while Mura Vinyl Intonaco adds a trowelled plaster texture that echoes the cracks in the image. Alternatively, choose Mura Vinyl Sabbia with its distinctive sand grain, or Mura Natur, a matt, eco-friendly non-woven.
