ALABASTER PROFILE - white horse head mural for living room

A large, pale horse's head in profile and a mane carried by the wind: on the wall it looks like a thickly textured picture enlarged to the size of a whole room. White, beige and grey keep the interior in a calm key, and streaks of golden ochre add warmth.

What does the design show?

ALABASTER PROFILE shows a white horse in profile, facing left. The head fills the left half of the image: the ears are high, the dark eye sits at about two fifths of the height, and the dark grey muzzle is low, close to the left edge. The neck slopes diagonally towards the lower right corner, and the pale mane streams to the right across the whole upper part of the image. The background is abstract: vertical bands of white, beige and dove grey, with rust-gold scuffs of ochre at the top left and by the right edge. The paint looks as if applied thickly with a palette knife, with pronounced relief on the mane and the cheek; this relief is part of the image. On a wall 260 cm high with a full crop (about 460 cm wide), the head measures about 175 cm from the tips of the ears to the muzzle, and the muzzle sits about 55 cm above the floor.

Which interior does it suit?

This is a design for adults, for rooms where the wall is meant to be the main picture. In a living room with an oak parquet floor, a pale sofa and a travertine table, the greys of the horse join with stone and the ochre with wood. Put the furniture in front of the right half of the wall, under the neck and mane: the head on the left then stays fully uncovered, and in front of it only a very low bench will fit at most. In a study, a desk of pale wood and a cream leather armchair stand on the right, and the horse looks into the room. A third option is a hallway or a lounge area in a hotel: from a greater distance the bands of the background read like old plaster, and the profile is clear from several metres away.

How do you choose the size and material?

This white horse head wall mural is one image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. On a wall narrower than about 4.6 m (for a height of 260 cm) the image has to be trimmed at the side: keep the left part with the whole head and give up the end of the mane on the right.

The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, with a natural canvas texture, the most versatile, and the textured Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with a trowelled plaster texture. Canvas matches the weave visible in the background, and plaster emphasises the vertical scuffs of white and ochre. As an alternative you have Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a distinct coarse sand grain texture that is neither smooth nor satin, and Mura Natur: an ecological, matt non-woven, odourless and hypoallergenic.

How do you buy with confidence?

Grey and ochre change their shade with the light, so take a sample before ordering the whole wall. It is a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials; you order it from the product page, and we send it within 1–3 working days. Hold it against the wall and check the colours and the texture of the material next to your parquet and fabrics. On the product page you can also make an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room yourself; we prepare a studio visualisation on request within 1–2 working days. If you want the horse to look the other way or the background to be cooler, the studio will adapt the composition, colours and crop. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days. Shipping within Poland and Europe is free, and to other countries it follows the rate shown in the basket. On request we arrange installation across Europe, with an individual quote.

We have gathered other portraits, pairs and galloping herds in the Horses collection. If you are looking for a picture above the sofa, also browse wall murals and wallpapers for the living room, and if you hesitate between two profiles, book a consultation with our studio.
