ARABESQUE - painterly wall mural with ginkgo branches for a living room

A few loose branches cross the wall diagonally, from bottom left to top right, and between them remains a lot of calm, cream background. The design works like an oil painting for a whole wall: it draws the eye in a living room, but does not crowd the interior, because there are few leaves and a lot of space between them.

What can you see in the design?

Ginkgo leaves grow on long, thin stems in the colour of caramel. The largest of them, a pair of wide fans, are in the upper right part of the image; smaller leaves are scattered at the top left, in the middle and low down in the middle part. The leaves are white and cream, with a warm, caramel shadow at the base and visible brushstrokes, and the light highlights on their surface look like a thick, cracked layer of paint – that is how the print looks, not a texture of the wall.

The background blends cream, pearl grey and pale grey-blue. By the left and right edges, especially low down on the left, vertical rust and light brown streaks of paint appear. On a wall 260 cm high each of the two large leaves is about 60 cm wide, and the smaller ones about 30–50 cm.

In which interiors will it feel at home?

Living room. Warm wood, oatmeal linen, travertine and rust-coloured cushions repeat the cream-and-caramel palette, as in the setting of a 1950s modernist house in Melbourne. A low sofa will cover only the calm lower background, and the pair of large leaves will remain whole above it.

Restaurant. In an intimate dining room with a limestone floor, white linen on the tables and cane chairs, the design reads from corner to corner, and the middle of the wall stays light and does not overwhelm guests at the tables.

Bedroom. Behind a low headboard in caramel linen and ivory bedding, the large leaves give scale and warmth without a dense pattern overhead, as in the bedroom setting in a Georgian townhouse in Bath.

How do you choose the size and material?

We print ARABESQUE as one image to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you set the size, material and crop. At a height of 260 cm the full design is about 4.6 m wide. The diagonal arrangement of the branches looks fullest as a whole, but on a narrower wall you can choose a crop with the right part of the image, where the largest leaves are.

• Mura Vinyl Canvas – the texture of natural canvas and the most versatile material; together with the brushstrokes on the leaves it gives the impression of a painting on canvas.
• Mura Vinyl Intonaco – the structured texture of trowelled plaster, with which the rust streaks by the edges look like an old, painted wall.
• Mura Vinyl Sabbia – an alternative with a pronounced coarse sand grain, which is neither smooth nor satin; it gives the cream background a grainy depth.
• Mura Natur – an alternative: an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic; on the matt surface the caramel stems are drawn thinly and sharply.

How can you buy with confidence?

Creams and caramel look different in daylight and by a warm lamp, so before you decide on the whole wall, check them on a sample. You order a sample from the product page: we ship a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials in 1–3 working days, and on it you can judge the colours next to your fabrics and the texture of the material. On the product page you can create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room yourself, and on request the DECOMURA team will prepare a studio visualisation in 1–2 working days. On request the studio will adjust the composition, colours and crop of the design to the interior, including a restaurant dining room. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days, shipping within Poland and Europe is free, and on request we arrange installation across Europe, with an individual quote.

You will find all the designs with pale ginkgo leaves in the Ginkgo Mist collection, and other motifs for the wall behind a sofa or above a table in the day area of the home among the living room wall murals.
