A row of tall grasses, captured at the moment the wind dies down, brings calm to the wall where you eat and talk. What does the design show?

Across the middle of the wall, from the left edge to the right, runs a single row of slender, elongated pampas grass plumes in white and cream. The plumes stand on tall, almost vertical stems. The two on the left side of the image bend gently to the left, while the three in the central section lean to the right. On the right side of the image the tallest plume reaches almost to the top edge, a lower one beneath it bows to the left, and the outermost one at the right edge is cropped by the frame. The background is a warm, sepia-tinged sandy beige, with a delicate canvas texture and worn, distressed patches. Above the plumes in the left and central sections a calm, empty band remains, while at the bottom straight stems in sandy beige and light brown grow denser. On a wall 260 cm high, the whole image is about 460 cm wide, a single plume is about 80–100 cm long, and the dense stems fill a lower band about 100 cm high.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a dining room the row of plumes sits above the tabletop and a low sideboard, so the furniture covers at most the dense stems near the floor. It pairs well with light wood, walnut, woven chairs and linen tablecloths, in other words with Japandi, Scandinavian or Mediterranean interiors. In a bedroom, place a low bed with its headboard against the patterned wall: the plumes and the empty band above them stay visible, and cream bedding extends the palette of the image. How do I choose the size and material?

Each design is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. On a wall narrower than about 3 m, keep the three leaning plumes from the central section or the tallest plume on the right side of the image within the crop. There are two main materials. Mura Vinyl Canvas has a natural canvas weave and is the most versatile; it echoes the canvas texture visible in the background of the design. Mura Vinyl Intonaco has a structured trowelled plaster texture that makes the worn patches of the background look like a plastered wall, something you will notice when sitting close to the table. As an alternative, consider Mura Vinyl Sabbia with its pronounced coarse sand grain – it is neither smooth nor satin and brings out the sandy beige, best on a wall viewed from a few metres away – or Mura Natur, an eco-friendly, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic non-woven material on which the white of the plumes stays soft, something you will appreciate in a bedroom.
