BILLOW - wall mural with ginkgo leaves like clouds for a living room

Above a warm, sandy band float clusters of white leaves, like billowing clouds in a pale sky. The wall gains the depth of a landscape: the bottom is warm and earthy, the top cool and light, so the living room gains a calm, spacious view. This is a design for a wall that is meant to be the main picture of the room.

What can you see in the design?

The upper third of the image is filled by a smooth, pale grey-blue background, which warms towards the bottom to cream and beige. At mid-height three clusters of white and cream ginkgo leaves on long, thin stems are spread out: the largest on the left side of the image, from the edge to roughly a third of the width, a smaller one in the middle and a wide one on the right, reaching the edge. The leaves have delicately marked, fan-shaped veins and are semi-transparent, so the clusters look light and airy.

The lower third is taken by a warm band in sandy ochre with a worn, flaking paint texture, from which the stems grow. On a wall 260 cm high the blue band at the top is about 80 cm, the left cluster of leaves about 140 cm wide, and the ochre band at the bottom about 85 cm high.

Which interiors does it suit?

Living room. Sand, cream and pale blue go with pale terrazzo, bouclé in a sand colour, travertine and walnut, as in the setting of a modernist house in Palm Springs. A low sofa against the wall will cover only the ochre band, and the clouds of leaves will remain whole above it.

Dining room. The warm ochre at the bottom goes with terracotta, an oak table and woven seats, and the pale blue sky cools an interior that gets strong sun. Place a long table in the middle of the room, and leave only the chair backs by the wall.

Study. With walnut, cognac leather and linen, the design gives the desk a calm backdrop with a clear division into sky and ground that does not distract at work.

How do you choose the size and material?

We print BILLOW as one image to the size of your wall; you choose the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. At a height of 260 cm the whole landscape is about 4.6 m wide, and the three clusters of leaves are spread evenly across it. If the wall is narrower, in the crop you can keep the large left cluster with a fragment of the middle one, or the wide right one – in both versions the blue sky and the ochre band remain.

• Mura Vinyl Canvas – the most versatile texture of natural canvas, on which the smooth sky gains a delicate, woven pattern.
• Mura Vinyl Intonaco – the structured texture of trowelled plaster; in the flaking ochre band it looks like an old, worn wall.
• Mura Vinyl Sabbia – as an alternative: a pronounced coarse sand grain, neither smooth nor satin, which goes with the sandy bottom of the image.
• Mura Natur – the second alternative, an eco-friendly non-woven: matt, odourless and hypoallergenic; the matt finish conveys the semi-transparency of the leaves and the thin stems.

How can you buy with confidence?

You order a sample of the design from the product page: it is a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, which we ship in 1–3 working days. Check on it how the blue and the ochre look next to your furniture and floor, and what texture the material has in daylight. If you want to see the whole landscape on your wall, create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room on the product page, or ask us for a studio visualisation – we will prepare it in 1–2 working days. On request the studio will adjust the composition, colours and crop of the design to the interior. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days, shipping within Poland and Europe is free, and on request we will arrange installation across Europe, with an individual quote.

You will find the other designs with pale ginkgo leaves in the Ginkgo Mist collection, and more ideas for the main wall of the day area of the home among the living room wall murals. If you want to position the clusters of leaves in relation to a sofa or a table, make use of a consultation with our studio.
