BRONZE PIROUETTE - dark wall mural with a white horse for a living room

A dark, olive-brown wall, and on it a white horse turning, with its neck arched and its mane flung to the side. Such a picture sets the tone for the whole room: the head of the horse alone is as tall as an adult here, and the warm light from the left brings out cream, gold and rust.

What can you see in the design?

BRONZE PIROUETTE shows a white horse from close up. The head on a strongly arched neck sits in the middle of the wall, shifted slightly to the left, and is turned down and to the right. The ear almost touches the top edge, and the muzzle ends at three quarters of the height: on a wall 260 cm high the head measures about 180 cm, and the lower edge of the muzzle falls about 70 cm above the floor. The eye and nostrils are dark, and grey-blue shadows lie on the forehead and neck. The pale mane streams out at the top to the right in thin strands, and by the right edge there is a creamy-gold tail. The body, in cream and warm brown, fills the lower right part of the picture. The background has two halves. On the right it is a smooth, dark brown with an olive tint. On the left it breaks into cream and rusty-orange patches, thick and rectangular, as if laid on with a palette knife.

Which interiors suit it?

In a living room it needs one wall just for itself and the company of dark parquet, cream velvet, brown and alabaster. In a library it goes with walnut and armchairs in olive velour. In a restaurant, the olive leather of a banquette and linen tablecloths in an ivory colour will echo both sides of the background, and warm, spot lighting will bring out the gold tones of the coat. It is a dark design, so it needs good daylight or carefully planned evening lighting; in a small room without a window such a wall will seem closer.

How do you arrange furniture so as not to cover the head?

The horse's muzzle comes down low, so a typical sofa with a back about 85 cm high would cover the bottom of the muzzle. Place the sofa, armchairs and lamps at the edges of the wall: on the left in front of the pale patches, on the right in front of the smooth background. In the middle leave the floor empty or a very low coffee table, up to about 50 cm. No pendant lamp in front of the middle of the wall.

How do you choose the size and the material?

A dark wall mural with a white horse is a single image printed to the size of your wall. You set the dimensions, the material and the crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. The full crop at a height of 260 cm is about 460 cm wide; on a narrower wall keep the head and the arch of the neck in the crop, and give up the tail on the right. If the proportions of the wall require trimming the picture vertically, trim the bottom, not the top: the ear is right at the top edge.

On Mura Vinyl Canvas, the most versatile material with a natural canvas weave, the thick strokes gain a weave and the design looks most like a canvas picture. Mura Vinyl Intonaco is textured, has a trowelled plaster texture and brings the smooth, dark half of the background to life. The alternatives are Mura Vinyl Sabbia, whose pronounced coarse sand grain is neither smooth nor satin, and Mura Natur, a matt, eco-friendly non-woven, odour-free and hypoallergenic.

How can you buy with confidence?

Dark backgrounds depend most on the lighting, and rusty orange is easy to overestimate. A sample lets you check this before you decide: it is a print of about 90 × 50 cm, on one or two materials, you order it from the product page, and it is dispatched within 1–3 working days. Look at the colours and the texture of the material in the light in which you actually use the room. The AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, which you make yourself on the product page, will in turn show where the horse's head will fall relative to your furniture. A more detailed studio visualisation we prepare on request in 1–2 working days. The studio can also adapt the crop, the composition and the colours, for example by darkening the pale patches on the left. Completing an order usually takes 3–7 working days. Shipping in Poland and Europe costs nothing, and to other countries the rate given in the basket applies. On request we arrange installation anywhere in Europe; we quote it individually.

You will see the other warm, rusty portraits and the pale white horses in the Horses collection. You will find other bold walls in the wallpapers and wall murals for the living room section, and you can discuss the setting of the crop with the studio during a consultation with our team.
