CARAMEL TWIRL - caramel wall mural with ginkgo for a living room

White ginkgo leaves lean in different directions, as if a gust of wind had passed over the wall. Warm caramel at the top and a cool, grey-blue haze at the bottom give the image depth, so the wall behind the sofa seems further away, and the room gains a calm sense of movement.

What can you see in the design?

Nine white leaves on thin, curved stalks form a wide band across the whole width of the image. The highest reaches up on the right, close to the top edge; the lowest stand on the left of the image and one in the right part, low above the bottom edge. The leaves have a creamy, painterly texture and a brown shadow at the base, and each leans a little differently.

In the lower half, behind the white leaves, stand darker, partly blurred leaves in graphite and grey-blue. They form a background layer, thanks to which the pale leaves come forward. The background goes from warm caramel and sand at the top to a grey-blue haze at the bottom. On a wall 260 cm high the image is about 460 cm wide, and the white leaves measure about 50–75 cm in height and 60–100 cm in width.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a living room the caramel of the background goes with a sofa in camel wool, travertine and smoked glass. A low sofa will cover mainly the stalks and the dark leaves at the bottom, and the band of white leaves will remain above it. The design suits interiors in the spirit of the 1970s, minimalism in warm colours and rooms with a lot of natural stone.

In a bedroom with a taupe linen bed, the grey-blue haze at the bottom repeats the colour of the bedding, and the warm top of the image softens the cool north light. Choose it for an office or meeting room when the wall is meant to be a calm backdrop to conversation: a long table and grey felt chairs pick up the greys from the bottom of the image, and the white leaves remain above the tabletop.

How do you choose the size and material?

We print the design as a single image to the size of your wall; in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you set the size, material and crop. On a narrower wall, move the crop so that it takes in the middle part with several leaves leaning in opposite directions – the impression of movement will remain even in a smaller section.

Hold it against the wall by the sofa or bed and compare it with your fabrics and with the texture of the chosen material. If you want fewer dark leaves at the bottom or a lighter caramel, the studio will adjust the composition, colours and crop of the design to the interior.
