CASHMERE TUFTS - large pampas grass wallpaper for the dining room

A few huge, fluffy plumes of pampas grass lean the same way, as if the wind had just swept through them. On a dining room wall, this image opens up the room like a wide window onto a meadow. It is light, quiet and free of harsh contrasts, so it is easier to slow down at the table and linger over conversation.

What does the design show?

The plumes are shown close up, so they are large and easy to make out even from the far end of the room. The large plumes lean to the right. The tallest plume stands in the left half of the image, just off centre, and reaches almost to the top edge. The right half is filled with a dense cluster of four huge plumes. The outermost one extends beyond the right edge, so the field seems to carry on further. On the left side of the image, lower down, grow two smaller plumes. The plumes are cream with a touch of light sandy beige, while the background is a misty, grey-blue haze with worn, rubbed-back patches. At the bottom, between the arcs of curving leaves, a muted sage green shows through. Fine, fibrous brushstrokes make the plumes look like down. On a wall 260 cm high, the tallest plume is about 130 cm long, the plumes in the cluster on the right of the image about 100 cm, and the two smaller ones on the left about 80 cm. The lower part is taken up mainly by stems and leaves.

Which interior does it suit?

In the dining room, this large pampas grass wall mural works best on the wall behind the table or behind a low sideboard. Chair backs will hide the stems at most, and the plumes will stay at eye level for those seated at the table. The palette of creams and beige goes well with whitewashed oak, linen, wicker and pale stone, so it combines nicely with Provençal and Japandi styles. In a hotel room, behind a bed with a low headboard, the whole field remains visible across the full width of the wall, and sage bedding will echo the green at the bottom of the image. In a study with a walnut desk, the warm beige of the grasses gains depth, and the light, misty background does not compete with what lies on the desktop. The grey-blue areas look their best in soft, diffused north light, while in a south-facing room the creams become noticeably warmer.

How do you choose the size and material?

Each design is one large image printed to the dimensions of your wall. You can set the width, height, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. At a height of 260 cm, the full image is about 460 cm wide. On a narrower wall, move the crop so that it keeps the tallest plume and part of the cluster on the right of the image. The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, with a natural canvas weave, the most versatile, which brings out the painterly character of the plumes, and the textured Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with a trowelled plaster texture, on which the worn patches of the background recall an old limewashed wall. The alternatives are Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain texture that is best seen from about a metre away, for example by a desk, and Mura Natur – an eco-friendly, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic non-woven, on which the transitions between blue and cream look soft.

Before you order the whole wall, order a sample of the design: a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, which we dispatch within 1–3 working days. Hold it against the wall in your dining room in the morning and in the evening. Check how the creams and the grey-blue background look in your light and next to your furniture, and feel the texture of the material. On the product page you can also create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, and on request we will prepare a studio visualisation within 1–2 working days.
