CHALK CRESCENDO - white pampas mural on taupe for the dining room

The milky plumes of pampas grass build like a musical crescendo: lower and swaying on the left, growing taller towards the right until they reach the top edge of the wall. The darker taupe background makes the white plumes stand out clearly, and the room gains a calm depth and a vertical rhythm that draws the eye upwards.

What does the design show?

The background is a warm taupe with a painterly, slightly worn texture, and it lightens towards the bottom into a misty greige. On the left of the image stand six dense plumes of medium height; they lean in different directions, so this part looks as if it has been stirred by the wind. On the right of the image, three or four taller plumes rise on long, pale, straight stems and reach right up to the top edge. Between the two groups a narrow strip of plain background remains, giving the composition room to breathe. The bottom of the wall is filled with thin, dark blades of grass in olive grey – they are what anchors the pale plumes. On a wall 260 cm high, the image is about 464 cm wide, a single plume on the left measures about 100 cm, the stems on the right reach about 250 cm, and the band of dark blades ends about 1 m from the floor.

Which interior does it suit?

In a dining room this white pampas grass wall mural looks best behind a table or a low sideboard: the furniture then covers only the dark blades, while the plumes remain visible above it. Taupe and white combine with light oak, linen and terracotta-toned ceramics, in other words with a rustic or Mediterranean interior. In a bedroom, choose a bed with a low headboard so that the tall plumes on the right of the image don't disappear behind the furniture; the muted palette provides a calm evening backdrop without strong contrasts. In a loft-style study, the soft grasses warm up concrete, steel and walnut. On a sunlit wall the taupe looks warmer; in north light it looks greyer.

How do I choose the size and material?

Every DECOMURA design is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. If your wall is narrower than about 4.6 m, use the crop to decide what to keep: the tall plumes on the right of the image give a stronger vertical accent, while the group on the left gives a calmer, broader rhythm.

We recommend two main materials. Mura Vinyl Canvas has a natural canvas texture and is the most versatile; its fine weave echoes the delicate fibres of the plumes. Mura Vinyl Intonaco has a structured trowelled plaster texture that brings out the worn taupe background in a rustic dining room. An alternative is Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain texture – it is neither smooth nor satin, and the grain looks best on a wall viewed from a few metres away. Mura Natur is an eco-friendly matt non-woven, odourless and hypoallergenic; its matt surface preserves the muted character of the palette in a bedroom.

How can I buy with confidence?

Before committing to a whole wall, order a sample of your chosen design from the product page: a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, dispatched within 1–3 working days. At home you can check how the taupe and milky white look in your light and which texture you prefer. On the product page you can also create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, and on request we will prepare a studio visualisation within 1–2 working days. If you'd prefer a lighter background or a different arrangement of the plumes, our studio will adapt the composition, colours and crop to your interior. Orders are usually completed within 3–7 working days, shipping within Poland and Europe is free, and on request we arrange installation across Europe, priced individually.
