CHALK IMPRINT - wall mural with white ginkgo leaves for a bedroom

White ginkgo leaves stand on long stalks like chalk imprints on a muted, warm background. A subdued khaki green calms the room, and the pale fans brighten it without sharp contrast. Patches of sea blue and coral streaks give the wall depth, as if older layers were showing through the paint.

What can you see in the design?

Against a background in khaki and grey olive, worn with vertical streaks, about ten ginkgo leaves spread out on long, thin, pale stalks. The white and cream leaves have a dry, chalky texture and densely drawn veins: two stand on the left of the image (at the top and low down), two in the middle (at the top and lower), and one on the right at the top, with a delicate peach bloom. To the right of centre another white leaf lies almost horizontally. Between them translucent leaves in a grey-green, sage shade show through. Beneath the lower white leaf in the middle a large, dark field of deep sea blue opens up, and smaller sea-blue patches can be seen at the top and by the right edge. Coral streaks run along the bottom edge on the left and vertically in the right part of the image. On a wall 260 cm high the largest white leaves are about 120 cm wide, and the dark field in the middle rises from the floor to a height of about 95 cm.

Which interiors does it suit?

Bedroom. Behind the bed the white leaves line up above the headboard like a frieze, and a low bed will cover at most the lower band with the sea-blue field. Khaki and sage go with bedding in white and olive, smoked oak and a bench in sea-blue velvet – this is how the setting in a functionalist villa in Brno looks. By the evening lamp the chalky white of the leaves stays bright while the background darkens.

Study. The calm palette does not distract while you work, and the dark sea-blue field gives the eye a resting point above the desk. Mahogany, cognac-coloured leather and a brass lamp will warm the cooler tones of the background.

Hotel room. The coral streaks are easy to repeat in a ceramic lamp, and a sea-blue throw on white bedding ties together the colours of the mural. The design is clear from the doorway, but its muted colours do not overwhelm a small room.

How do you choose the size and material?

On the wall behind the bed it is worth keeping the middle of the image in the crop: both middle white leaves and the dark field beneath them.

On the sample you can check the colours and the texture of the material at home, next to your bedding and the wood of your furniture. You can create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room yourself on the product page; you can also ask for a studio visualisation, which we will prepare in 1–2 working days. On request the studio will adjust the composition, colours and crop of the design to the interior, for example by lightening the background or shifting the white leaves.
