CLOUD VOYAGER - whale wall mural for a bedroom and a child’s room

A whale glides diagonally through cream clouds, and beneath it, across the full width of the wall, navy waves roll in. The room stays light, because most of the image is beige and cream, but it gains a darker base and one long line: from the head on the left to the tail raised towards the ceiling on the right.

What does the design show?

CLOUD VOYAGER is a grey-blue whale with its head turned to the left. The head is in the upper left of the image, the pale belly nearer the centre and the tail high by the right-hand edge. On a wall 260 cm high with the full crop (about 460 cm wide), it measures about 3.4 m, and its lowest point, the tip of the fin, falls about 110 cm above the floor. The stripes on the belly are drawn with fine gold lines, gold spirals run along its side, and similar arcs outline several clouds and the crests of the waves. Here, gold is a printed colour. The clouds are cream, with cool, blue-grey shadows; between them you can see a beige background with a linen canvas weave, which is part of the image. The lower part is filled with navy waves with two white, curling crests: the left one reaches about 65 cm, the right one about 80 cm above the floor.

How is it different from similar designs?

The collection includes four whales in cream clouds. Here and in ABOVE THE TIDE the whale swims to the left; in LINEN WHALE and PEARL DRIFTER, to the right. You can tell this design from ABOVE THE TIDE by the sea and the background: there the waves form a low band with three smaller crests, and the background is sandy, with vertical brush marks. Here there are two crests, larger and taller, and the belly stripes are gold, not grey.

Which interior does it suit?

In a baby’s or small child’s room, what matters is a clear figure: one large animal with a visible eye, drawn high enough that neither a cot nor a low chest of drawers will cover it. The palette of cream, beige and grey-blue has none of the colourful fairy-tale look, so the design will still suit when a desk replaces the cot. In an adult bedroom, different qualities come into play: the painterly texture, the linen background and the fine gold lines, which tie in with linen bedding, pale oak and brass. A low bed will hide only the middle of the band of waves, and with the full crop both curling crests remain on either side of it. The third place is a bathroom with a freestanding bath: the sea then falls just behind it, and the cream clouds match pale stone.

How do you choose the size and material?

This whale in the clouds wall mural is a single image printed to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you enter the dimensions, choose the material and set the crop. With a height of 260 cm, a wall narrower than about 3.5 m will not hold the whole whale: you then decide whether to keep the head or the tail.

The two main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, the most versatile, with the weave of natural canvas, and the structured Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with a trowelled plaster texture. Canvas matches the linen background of the image, and on plaster the clouds and waves resemble a wall painting. The alternatives are Mura Vinyl Sabbia – a pronounced coarse sand grain, a material that is neither smooth nor satin – and Mura Natur, an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic.

How can you buy with confidence?

Cream, beige and the gold colour of the lines look different in daylight and under lamps, so start with a sample. It is a print of about 90 × 50 cm, on one or two materials, ordered from the product page and shipped in 1–3 working days: on it you can judge the colours and the texture of the material next to your own furniture. On the product page you can also create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room yourself, and we will prepare a studio visualisation on request in 1–2 working days. At your request the studio will also adapt the composition, colours and crop. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days, and shipping in Poland and Europe is free (to other countries at the rate shown in the basket).
