CREASED LINEN - wabi-sabi grass wall mural

Clumps of grass spread freely across the wall, as if someone had pressed them into creased linen. This wabi-sabi grass wall mural has no single focal point: the eye drifts from plume to plume and rests in the pale gaps between them. The room grows quieter, and the wall begins to feel like fabric rather than paint.

What does the design show?

Grey-brown plumes grow in loose, irregular clumps. A tall clump stands at the left edge of the image, two more fill the left-hand side, and a wide crown spreads out in the centre-right section. A slender clump at the right edge closes the composition. Some of the stems in the right half lean to the right, as if in a light breeze. Pale gaps remain between the clumps, and the whole arrangement is relaxed and irregular. The tips of the plumes reach almost to the top edge, while the thin stalks run all the way down to the bottom of the image.

The background is light grey, with the texture of creased paper or linen, and a lighter, cloud-like band runs through the middle of the image. The plumes are drawn in fine, painterly strokes in grey-brown, with graphite shadows. On a wall 260 cm high, the image is about 460 cm wide, and the crown in the centre-right section measures about 140 cm in height and about 150 cm in width.

Which interiors does it suit?

A living room in a Japandi or wabi-sabi style, with an oatmeal linen sofa, dark oak and ceramics. The grey-brown plumes echo the colours of natural fabrics, and the pale gaps keep the wall behind the sofa from overwhelming even a small room.

A restaurant with brick, concrete and wood. On a long wall that guests view from several metres away, the irregular rhythm of the clumps does not tire the eye, and the muted greys do not compete with the colours of the tableware and the food.

A dressing room or dining room. In a dressing room, the linen texture of the background pairs with the fabrics of clothes and upholstery, and the light grey takes soft light filtered through blinds well. In a dining room, terracotta or pink chairs stand out clearly against the cool background and bring the calm wall to life.

How do I choose the size and material?

Each design is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the width, height, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. On a narrower wall, shift the crop so that the wide crown from the centre-right section does not end up right at the edge of the wall.

Before you order the whole wall, order a sample from the product page: a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, dispatched within 1–3 working days. Hold it against the wall in daylight and in the evening, and see how the light grey of the background and the texture of the material look next to your furniture. On the product page you can also create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, and on request we will prepare a studio visualisation within 1–2 working days. If you prefer a warmer background or denser clumps, the studio will adapt the composition, colours and crop of the design to your interior.
