DENIM AND OCHRE - ochre wall mural with blue ginkgo leaves

The warm ochre of the background and the cool blues of the leaves are held in balance here, like faded denim laid on linen canvas. The wall turns sunny even on a cloudy day, and the navy of the largest leaf gives it a clear centre of gravity. Cream drips near the bottom soften the transition to the furniture.

What can you see in the design?

Scattered over a warm, ochre-mustard background with a canvas texture are ginkgo leaves in many shades of blue: from deep navy through a smoky dove blue to almost white. The largest and darkest, navy leaf stands to the left of centre. On the left of the image at the top and in the middle at the top spread paler, blue leaves, on the right at the top another navy one, and in the middle and on the right, lower down, white-blue leaves. All of them have thin, trailing stalks. Near the bottom edge cream-white patches and drips of paint appear, and to the left of centre a small rust accent; similar rust-coloured worn patches can be seen in the right part of the background. On a wall 260 cm high the navy leaf is about 120 cm wide and about 75 cm tall, and the pale leaf at the top left reaches about 130 cm in width.

Which interiors does it suit?

Dining room. A round table in the middle of the room and chairs upholstered in denim-coloured wool repeat the palette of the design – this is how the setting in a Danish modernist house in Klampenborg looks. The ochre warms the light over the table, and the leaves above the chair backs stay uncovered.

Living room. Faded terracotta, oak and a linen sofa in the colour of washed denim make a summery, Provençal interior in which the ochre wall plays the role of the sun. A low sofa will cover only the cream drips at the bottom, and the whole pattern of leaves will remain above its back.

Dressing room. The mustard velvet of a pouffe and a walnut chest of drawers pick up the warmth of the background. When the wardrobes stand only on the side walls, the whole image stays in view, and the blues of the leaves make a calm backdrop when you try on clothes.

How do you choose the size and material?

DENIM AND OCHRE is a single image printed to the size of your wall; at a height of 260 cm the full design is about 4.6 m wide. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you set the size, material and crop. On a narrower wall keep the navy leaf to the left of centre in the crop – it is what organises the composition.

• Mura Vinyl Canvas – the texture of natural canvas, the most versatile material; the weave matches the canvas-like pattern of the ochre background, so up close the design looks like a painting on canvas.
• Mura Vinyl Intonaco – the texture of trowelled plaster, a structured material; in a dining room, in light falling from the side, the plaster scratches will emphasise the worn patches of ochre.
• Mura Vinyl Sabbia – an alternative: a pronounced coarse sand grain, a material that is neither smooth nor satin; the grain adds a roughness to the warm ochre that is visible from the distance of a table.
• Mura Natur – an alternative: an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic; the matt finish shows the soft transitions from navy to white without reflections of light.

How can you buy with confidence?

Ochre looks warmer in the sun and cooler in the evening, so first order a sample from the product page – a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, shipped in 1–3 working days. Held against the wall, it lets you check the colours and the texture of the material at home next to your wood, linen and upholstery. On the product page you can also create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, and if you prefer, our team will prepare a studio visualisation in 1–2 working days. On request the studio can adjust the composition, colours and crop of the design, for example by softening the mustard shade of the background. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days, shipping within Poland and Europe is free, and on request we arrange installation across Europe with an individual quote.

You will find all the ginkgo designs with a painterly texture in the Amber Ginkgo collection, and more ideas for the wall behind the sofa among the wallpapers for the living room.
