DOVE LANTERNS - muted ginkgo wall mural for a bedroom

Large white ginkgo leaves hang in the misty air like paper lanterns and light up the wall from within. Warm beige fades into a cool, grey-blue mist, so the room takes on a muted, evening mood – the kind you look for by the bed or at a table where people talk without hurry.

What can you see in the design?

Several large, semi-transparent leaves in white, pearl grey and grey-green stand on long, thin stalks and fill the image from one fifth of its width to the right edge. The largest, white leaf is at the top, just to the right of centre; beneath it spreads a grey-green fan, high by the right edge stands a third large leaf, and on the left side of the image there are two smaller ones, white and beige-brown, and one low down in the middle. The bases of the leaves are darker, grey-green and brown, and the edges softly blurred, in a painterly style. The background is warm, beige-peach in the upper left part, and turns into a cool, grey-blue mist at the bottom and on the right.

When the wall is 260 cm high, the whole image is about 460 cm wide. The largest leaves are about 90–120 cm wide, and the left band of calm background about 80 cm. The leaves begin about 20 cm below the top edge, and the lowest one ends roughly 40 cm above the floor.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a bedroom place a low bed in the middle: the large leaves hang above the headboard, and a low headboard will cover only the misty lower part and the lowest, beige leaf. The white and grey-green go with sage-coloured linen bedding, dark oak and lacquered bedside tables in dove grey. In a study a desk placed by the left end of the wall, in front of the calm, beige background, will not cover any large leaf, and cognac-coloured leather will warm up the cool mist at the bottom. In a restaurant dining room tables with pale tablecloths and sage-coloured velvet armchairs fit in the zone of mist, and the leaves remain visible above the guests' heads. The design suits classic townhouses, Parisian style and muted, elegant interiors.

How do you choose the size and material?

DOVE LANTERNS is one large image printed to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you enter the dimensions of your wall and set the crop. If the wall is narrower than the image, move the crop to the right: the calm, beige background on the left side of the image will then disappear first, and the large leaves will stay on the wall.

The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, with the texture of natural canvas, the most versatile – the canvas weave suits the painterly, blurred edges of the leaves – and the structured Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with the texture of trowelled plaster, which in the light of a bedside lamp deepens the mist in the lower part. As an alternative choose Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain, neither smooth nor satin, or Mura Natur – an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic, on which the white of the leaves stays soft.

How can you buy with confidence?

White, grey-green and cool mist change during the day, so check them first by ordering a sample from the product page. We ship it in 1–3 working days: it is a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, on which you will see the colours and the texture of the material in your own interior, in the morning and in the evening light. You can create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room yourself on the product page; on request the DECOMURA team will make a studio visualisation in 1–2 working days. The studio can also adjust the composition, colours and crop of the design to the interior, for example by warming up the mist or moving the leaves higher above the bed. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days, shipping within Poland and Europe is free, and to other countries it is charged at the rate shown in the basket; we arrange installation across Europe on request, with an individual quote.

You will find other pale designs with ginkgo leaves in the Ginkgo Mist collection, and more calm images for above the bed in the bedroom wall murals collection. If you are furnishing a restaurant dining room, book a consultation on choosing the design.
