DRYPOINT - graphic grass wall mural in greys for the dining room

Five tall plumes drawn in silvery lines on misty grey turn the wall into a calm piece of graphic art. This drawn grass wall mural does not rely on colour: it creates a matt, soft backdrop for wood, linen and ceramics, and at the table it gives the eye something to look at during a long conversation.

What does the design show?

The motif is plumes of ornamental grass in two tones: a dark, grey-olive core and light, silvery-white threads along the edges, so the whole design looks like a delicate drawing. On the left side of the image stand two plumes, and the second one, closer to the centre, is noticeably lighter. In the middle grows the darkest one, leaning diagonally up to the right – it is this plume that leads the eye across the wall. On the right side of the image stand two more, and the outermost of them is the whitest.

The upper band of the background is darker, in a warm grey, while the lower half shifts into a light, misty grey with the texture of crumpled paper. At the bottom stand thin, pale blades of grass. On a wall 260 cm high, the image is about 464 cm wide, the plumes are from about 150 to about 200 cm tall, and at their widest point each one measures about 90–120 cm.

Which interiors does it suit?

The first choice is the dining room. You usually see the wall behind the table from 2–3 metres away, and from that distance you take in both the whole row of plumes and the drawn threads along their edges. The design combines well with walnut, oak and linen; as in the dining room setting in a Turin apartment, a low sideboard in front of it is all you need, and it covers only the thin blades of grass at the bottom.

In a hotel room or a guest bedroom, the misty grey does not overpower the bedding or the daylight from the window, and the wide image can be stretched from corner to corner behind a low bed. In a walk-in wardrobe, where the cupboards stand along the side walls, the plumes form a calm backdrop for a chest of drawers and a pouffe. In terms of style, DRYPOINT suits Japandi, rustic and classic interiors with warm-toned wood.

How do you choose the size and material?

DRYPOINT is a single image printed to the size of your wall, with no repeating strips. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page, you enter the dimensions of your wall, choose the material and set the crop. On a wall about 2.5 metres wide, it is worth keeping the dark central plume and one of its neighbours in the frame; at a width of about 4.6 metres, all five will fit.

The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas with the texture of natural canvas, the most versatile option – its fine weave works with the drawn threads and softens them when you look up close – and the structured Mura Vinyl Intonaco with a trowelled plaster texture, which, in a dining room viewed from 2–3 metres, brings out the rubbed, crumpled background. An alternative is Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced texture of coarse sand grain, neither smooth nor satin, which gives the misty grey a grainy character, or Mura Natur, an eco-friendly non-woven: matt, odourless and hypoallergenic, on which the silvery threads stay flat and calm.

How can you buy with confidence?

Before you order the whole wall, order a sample from the same product page: a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, which we dispatch within 1–3 working days. Hold it against the wall in your dining room and see how the warm grey and silvery white look next to your furniture, and how the texture of the material looks in your light. On the product page you can also create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, and on request we will prepare a studio visualisation within 1–2 working days. If you wish, the studio will adapt the composition, colours and crop of the design to your interior. Orders are usually completed within 3–7 working days, printing is eco-friendly and certified, shipping within Poland and Europe is free, and on request we arrange installation anywhere in Europe, individually quoted.

You will find more grass plumes in shades of grey in the Silver Reeds collection, and calm designs without strong colour among our minimalist wallpapers and wall murals. If you are torn between materials, book a consultation on choosing the design and material.
