FIRST SNOW - wall mural with horses and foals in a winter forest

The sun breaks through a winter forest and lays long blue shadows on the snow, while a herd with two foals runs through the brightness. It is the warmest of the collection's winter designs: more cream than blue, more light than frost.

What can you see in the design?

In FIRST SNOW the herd is led by a white-and-brown horse with a pale, streaming mane. It runs through the middle of the picture with one foreleg thrown forward, and its head sits in the upper part of the wall. Just beside it, to the right of centre, two chestnut foals with white markings on their foreheads keep close. A white horse with a lowered head runs along the right edge, and a second white one appears on the left. Further back there are paler silhouettes, blurred in the snowy haze. Slender white birch trunks stand on the left, while on the right the forest dissolves into creamy light. Snow with blue shadows lies along the bottom. The palette is warm cream, blue and apricot brown, laid on in broad, visible brushstrokes. On a wall 260 cm high with the full crop (about 465 cm wide), the lead horse measures about 195 cm from ears to hooves and the foals about 160 cm. The lead horse's head sits roughly 150–210 cm above the floor, and the foals' heads roughly 150–190 cm.

How can you tell this design apart from the other forest herds?

Among the three herds in the birch forest, you will recognise this one by the foals and the sun. BIRCH RUN is cooler and shows seven adult horses running straight towards the viewer; FROSTLIGHT HERD is almost all white horses and one foal. Here there are two young ones running as a pair, and the herd passes the viewer at a slight angle, towards the right.

Which interiors suit it?

Dining room: a round birch table and chairs with linen seats stand against the snow and the legs, leaving the whole upper half of the wall for the heads. Living room: a cream sofa with a low back, a light oak coffee table and an apricot throw pick up the three main colours of the picture. Place a low lamp on a side table at the edge of the wall, under the white horse, so that the shade stays below about 130 cm. Hall: a long, low bench with baskets underneath takes up only the bottom 50 cm, so anyone coming in sees the whole herd.

How do you choose the size and the material?

This wall mural with horses and foals is made as a single image to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you set the dimensions, the material and the crop. The key group, meaning the lead horse and both foals, fits at a wall height of 260 cm in a strip about 220 cm wide, so the design can also be cropped for a shorter wall; then check that the edge does not cut through the head of the white horse on the left.

There are two main materials: Mura Vinyl Canvas, the most versatile, with a natural canvas weave, and Mura Vinyl Intonaco, textured, with a trowelled plaster texture. On canvas, the sunny patches on the snow and the manes get a fine, even rhythm of weave; plaster scatters them irregularly, which gives the impression of light on a masonry wall. You can also choose Mura Vinyl Sabbia, a material with a pronounced coarse sand grain (it is neither smooth nor satin), or Mura Natur, an eco-friendly non-woven that is matt, odour-free and hypoallergenic.

How can you buy with confidence?

The warm cream of this design can merge with cream paint on the neighbouring walls or, on the contrary, look too yellow next to it. A sample held up in the corner of the room will settle it. The sample is a print of about 90 × 50 cm; you choose one or two materials, order it from the product page, and we dispatch it within 1–3 working days. You judge two things on it: the colours and the texture of the material. How the herd will sit above your table or bench is shown by the AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, which you make yourself on the product page. A studio visualisation is prepared on request, in 1–2 working days. On your request the studio can also adapt the composition, the colours and the crop to the interior. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days. Shipping within Poland and Europe is free of charge, and to other countries the rate shown in the basket applies. If you wish, we will arrange installation anywhere in Europe, after an individual quote.
