FLOATING ANEMONES - light abstract flower mural for a bedroom

Three groups of transparent petals float on a cool white, with plenty of air left between them. This abstract floral wall mural does not flood the wall with colour but brightens it: turquoise and sea green appear as islands, joined by thin gold threads. A room feels lighter and calmer with it.

What can you see in the design?

FLOATING ANEMONES is an abstraction with the look of a watercolour: the petals are blots without an outline and only bring anemones to mind. The first group lies in the upper left corner, the second in the middle, and the third, the largest, by the right edge, where pale petals fall all the way to the bottom of the image. Separately, low on the left, you can see a single pale bud. The colour moves from a pale sea green to a deep turquoise, and the darkest, almost bottle-green accent is in the heart of the middle flower. The groups are joined by thin gold threads ending in drops in a shade of cream gold; they are a printed colour, not a metallic paint. On the white background you can see traces of broad brushstrokes, and empty areas remain between the groups and in the lower left corner.

On a wall 260 cm high the image is about 462 cm wide, the middle flower about 135 cm wide and about 150 cm high, and the bud about 70 by 90 cm. Unlike SEA GLASS GARLAND, where the flowers form a continuous band on a cream background, here the groups are separated by white, and the turquoise is distinctly greener.

Which room does it suit?

In a bedroom the design is a light backdrop with a few accents: above a low bed the petals remain visible almost in full, and the white blends with white bedding and a pale floor. In a Scandinavian-style living room it looks good behind a long sofa in natural linen; birch or bleached wood and a brass lamp echo the warm tone of the gold threads. The pale bud lies low on the left of the image: if it is to be visible, do not cover it with a tall piece of furniture.

In a bathroom FLOATING ANEMONES suits white marble and brushed brass, and a freestanding bath gives the large petals a point of reference. From two or three metres away you see whole groups; up close, the layers of colour blending into one another. In a north-facing room the cool white of the background will look even cooler, so choose warm wood and fabrics to go with it.

How do you choose the size and material?

We print FLOATING ANEMONES as a single image to the size of your wall; you set the dimensions, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. The groups of petals are spaced apart, so the crop changes the character of the design considerably: on a narrow wall you can keep just the middle group with its dark heart, or the right-hand one, the largest.

For such a light design we recommend first Mura Vinyl Canvas, the most versatile, with the texture of natural canvas, and the structural Mura Vinyl Intonaco with the texture of trowelled plaster. On large areas of white both textures are clearly visible and stop the empty background from looking flat. Mura Vinyl Sabbia has a pronounced coarse sand grain texture and is neither smooth nor satin, so choose it if you want the white of the background to have a distinct grain. Mura Natur, an eco-friendly matt non-woven, suits the watercolour lightness of the petals.
