FLUTTER - wall mural with small ginkgo leaves for a bedroom

Hundreds of small leaves float above the wall like a pale meadow stirred by the wind, and above them remains a calm, misty sky. The design has no single point that draws the eye, so a bedroom gets a soft, even backdrop that makes it easy to wind down. Creams and whites brighten the room even on a cloudy day.

What can you see in the design?

A dense band of ginkgo leaves on thin, tall stalks runs across the whole width of the image. The band fills the lower two thirds of the design, and its upper line undulates slightly: on the right side of the image single leaves rise highest, on the left they end a little lower. The leaves are white, cream and pale beige – some almost white, as if lit from the side, others in a warmer beige. The top is filled with an empty, misty background in pearl grey, which warms towards the bottom to cream. By the bottom edge you can see thick, painterly patches of cream paint and pale grey-blue streaks.

On a wall 260 cm high a single leaf is about 10–15 cm wide, the dense part of the band reaches about 170 cm from the floor, and the tallest stalks on the right about 220 cm. From a few steps away the design reads as a rippling meadow, and up close you can see the fan shape of each leaf.

Which interiors does it suit?

Bedroom. The small, dense pattern creates an even, pale backdrop behind the bed, and the empty sky above the leaves gives breathing space overhead. It suits ivory linen bedding, an oak parquet floor and travertine bedside tables, as in the bedroom setting in a Brussels Art Deco apartment.

Living room. In a Scandinavian or country interior with whitewashed boards and a wool rug, the design works like a calm landscape behind a low sofa. Low furniture will cover only the bottom band of painterly patches, and the whole meadow of leaves will remain visible.

Dressing room. In a small room seen up close, the small scale of the leaves does not overwhelm, and the cream background goes with walnut, terrazzo and velvet in powder pink.

How do you choose the size and material?

FLUTTER is one image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. At a height of 260 cm the full design is about 4.6 m wide; the leaves are spread evenly, so on a narrower wall the crop will keep the character of a meadow whichever fragment you choose.
