FREEHAND - oil painting style grass wall mural for the bedroom

Light grass plumes drift across the wall as if stirred by the wind, with plenty of pale background left between them. The wall gains a soft, painterly depth without overwhelming the room – the taupe plants and calm beige quieten a space where you want to unwind at the end of the day.

What does the design show?

This is an oil painting style grass wall mural: the plumes are scattered across the whole surface, at different heights, leaning diagonally in different directions. On the left of the image, several plumes sit one above another right down to the bottom edge. In the upper left half and on the right, large plumes bow to the left, while in the centre stands a smaller, upright plume – a calm point between them. In the top right corner, a tall plume reaches the very edge of the image. The lower part is filled with long, pale, gracefully arching stems and fine blades that cross one another.

The plants are taupe, a greyish brown, set against a light beige-grey background with darker, cloud-like patches at the top; the palest stems verge on off-white. The whole image is covered with a texture of fine, visible brushstrokes. On a wall 260 cm high, the large plumes at the top are about 100 cm long and the central plume about 70 cm.

Which interiors does it suit?

The bedroom is the natural first choice for this design. The pale background does not darken the room, and the plumes spread across the full width do not create a single strong focal point that would draw the eye in the evening. Behind a low oak bed with oatmeal linen bedding, the design stays clearly visible, because a low bed without a tall headboard covers only a strip of the pale stems.

In a Scandinavian or Japandi living room, the design pairs well with limestone, birch, rattan and bouclé fabrics. Above a low sofa the centre of the wall stays open, and the large plumes in the upper half remain visible even when furniture stands in front of the wall. In a walk-in wardrobe, the lightness of this image comes into its own: alongside pale wood and grey linen, the wall does not overwhelm a narrow room, and from a distance of one metre you can see the texture of the brushstrokes.

How do I choose the size and material?

FREEHAND is a single image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. At a height of 260 cm, the full image is about 460 cm wide; on a narrower wall, choose a crop that keeps the smaller plume in the centre or the tall plume from the top right corner.

The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, with a natural canvas weave, the most versatile option, which brings out the painterly character of the drawing, and Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with a trowelled plaster texture that adds a structured layer to the pale background. As an alternative, consider Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain – for a wide wall viewed from several metres away, because up close the grain blends with the fine brushstrokes – or Mura Natur, an eco-friendly, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic non-woven, which keeps most of the attention on the drawing of the grasses itself.

How can I buy with confidence?

Before you order the whole wall, order a sample of this design from the product page: a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, dispatched within 1–3 working days. With the sample you can check at home how the beige-grey background and taupe look in the light of your room, and what texture the chosen material has. On the product page you can also create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, and on request we will prepare a studio visualisation within 1–2 working days. If you would like to change the composition, colours or crop, our studio will adapt the design to your interior. Orders are usually completed within 3–7 working days, shipping within Poland and Europe is free, and on request we arrange installation across Europe, individually quoted.

You will find more grasses and reeds in shades of grey in the Silver Reeds collection, and calm designs for the room where you sleep in our Bedroom collection. If you are unsure which crop to choose, book a consultation with our team.
