GLACIAL SILK - abstract wall mural in turquoise and white for bedrooms

A white ribbon, smooth as silk, flows diagonally through layers of turquoise and widens towards the right side of the wall. All the transitions are soft, with no sharp edge, so the design calms a room instead of stimulating it. It is a wall for a bedroom, a hallway or a spa area.

What can you see in the design?

GLACIAL SILK is an abstraction with a fluid art look: it resembles a milky river flowing out from under a glacier, seen from above. The white ribbon starts in the top left corner and flows along the diagonal towards the right edge, which it reaches below the middle, clearly wider than at the start. Beneath it, by the left edge, waves of darker turquoise settle in layers; a second dark band runs above the ribbon, from the middle of the top edge to the right. The bottom left and top right corners are filled with a smooth, misty, light turquoise. Only a little of the colour of gold appears: an island to the left of the middle, a second one by the bottom edge in the middle, a little gold dust at the top in the middle and thin gold outlines on the right.

This fluid art wall mural differs from its twin AERIAL ATOLL precisely in its smoothness: there are no cells here or vivid turquoise, and the white is wide and silky. For a wall 260 cm high the image is about 462 cm wide, the ribbon about 30 cm wide in the upper part and about 90 cm by the right edge, and each of the two gold islands about 70 cm.

What kind of interior does it suit?

In a bedroom, choose it for the wall behind a low bed of light wood, without a tall headboard: the white ribbon then passes above the pillows, and the calm bottom left corner stays by the bedside table. Pair it with ivory wool, travertine and frosted glass.

In an entrance hall the design works from the threshold: the diagonal leads the eye deeper into the home, and the light turquoise does not overwhelm a narrow space. A long bench of bleached oak and one lamp are enough. The third use is hotels and spa areas. In a reception with light stone and armchairs in cream fabric the wall builds a mood of water and quiet, and guests see it both from afar, from the entrance, and from an armchair, from a distance of a metre.

How do you choose the size and material?

You order one image printed to the size of your wall. You set the dimensions, material and crop on the product page, in the “Calculate price and order” configurator. In a hallway the wall is often narrow: at a width of about 2 m and a height of 260 cm less than half of the image will fit in the crop, so choose the part in which the ribbon passes through the middle and one gold island remains beside it.

For this design we recommend above all Mura Vinyl Canvas and Mura Vinyl Intonaco. Canvas has the texture of natural canvas and is the most versatile; it is most clearly visible on the smooth, misty corners. Intonaco has the texture of trowelled plaster and a pronounced structure: on it the white ribbon looks as if rubbed through with a spatula. Another option is Mura Vinyl Sabbia, a distinct coarse sand grain texture that is neither smooth nor satin and breaks up the silky transitions more strongly, or Mura Natur: an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic, on which the design keeps a quiet, matt character.

How can you buy with confidence?

Soft transitions between white and turquoise are easier to judge on a print than on a screen. So order a sample from the product page: you will get a print of about 90 × 50 cm, on one or two materials, dispatched within 1–3 working days. Hold it where the wall mural will go and check the colours and the texture of the material.

You can check the position of the ribbon relative to the bed or the bench in an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, which you make yourself on the product page. On request we will also prepare a studio visualisation; it takes us 1–2 working days. If you ask, the studio will also adapt the composition, colours and crop of the design to your interior. We usually complete orders in 3–7 working days. You do not pay for shipping in Poland and Europe, and for shipping to other countries you will see the rate in the basket. We arrange installation throughout Europe on request and price it individually. The print of the wall mural is eco-friendly and certified.

You will see the whole palette, from almost white grounds to deep turquoise, in the Turquoise and Gold collection. More quiet designs for the wall behind the bed can be found among the Bedroom wall murals.
