GOSSAMER TIDE - delicate turquoise wall mural for bedrooms

A translucent turquoise patch washes over the cream wall like a wave onto sand, and its edge is drawn by a single wavy gold line. It is a design for the room where you rest: light, soft, without strong contrasts, with detail visible only up close.

What can you see in the design?

In GOSSAMER TIDE the turquoise does not run in a band; it fills the bottom and the left side of the wall. It is watercolour-like and translucent, deepest in the bottom left corner and growing paler towards the top. The upper part, especially the top right corner, is a cream plane with a pattern of folds that look like relief in plaster or ripples in sand. The boundary between the two zones is drawn by a wavy gold line: it begins at the left edge, passes just below the middle of the wall and descends towards the bottom right corner, where it breaks up into cracked gold patches. Around it spreads a web of very fine gold strokes, densest in the middle of the wall, just above the line.

This is what sets this design apart from the similar TORN WASHI, in which the turquoise is a horizontal band and the gold lines are straight. Here the relief is an image, that is, a drawing of light and shadow, and the gold is a printed colour. When the wall is 260 cm high, the image is about 462 cm wide, the densest part of the web is about 125 cm wide, and the gold patches in the bottom right corner take up an area about 65 cm on each side.

What kind of interior does it suit?

As a turquoise bedroom wall mural, GOSSAMER TIDE has one important feature: the deeper colour is low and the light one high. Behind a bed with a low, cream headboard the turquoise surrounds the head of the bed, and the cream with folds stays under the ceiling, so the wall does not feel heavy overhead. Bleached oak, linen, sheer curtains and a touch of brass go well with it.

In a light, minimalist living room, with a concrete floor, a long linen sofa and a travertine table, the design brings the only colour and needs no accessories. In a bathroom the turquoise patch and the cream ground repeat the colours of terrazzo, a white bath and fittings in the colour of brushed gold. It is a room in which you look at the wall from a metre or two away, so the web of gold strokes is clearly visible there.

How do you choose the size and material?

We print GOSSAMER TIDE as a single image to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you enter the dimensions, choose the material and set the crop. Pay attention to the right-hand side: the gold patches lie in the bottom corner, up to a height of about 65 cm above the floor, so they will hide behind a chest of drawers or a bedside cabinet. Leave this corner free or shift the crop if you want them to be visible.

We recommend above all Mura Vinyl Canvas and Mura Vinyl Intonaco. The former has the texture of natural canvas and is the most versatile: this texture goes well with the watercolour character of the turquoise. The latter, with the texture of trowelled plaster and a pronounced structure, strengthens the impression of a plaster wall in the cream part. As an alternative, consider Mura Vinyl Sabbia, a distinct coarse sand grain texture (this material is neither smooth nor satin), if you want to emphasise the association with the beach. The fourth option is Mura Natur, an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic; its matt finish suits the powdery cream of the upper part of the design.

How can you buy with confidence?

The gold strokes in this design are thin and the turquoise is very light, so look at a print before you decide on the whole wall. From the product page you can order a sample: a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, which we dispatch within 1–3 working days. At home you will judge the colours and the texture of the material, ideally next to your bedding and curtains.

Even before the sample you can make an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room on the product page. On request our team will prepare a studio visualisation in 1–2 working days, and the studio will adapt the composition, colours and crop of the design to your interior. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days. We ship free of charge to Poland and other European countries, and to the rest at the rate shown in the basket. On request we also arrange installation throughout Europe, priced individually, and the print itself is eco-friendly and certified.

You will find related compositions, lighter and darker, in the Turquoise and Gold collection, and more calm designs for the wall behind the bed among the Bedroom wall murals. If you are unsure about the materials, a consultation with our studio will help.
