HEATHER FRESCO - rust-coloured boho wall mural with lilac ginkgo

Rust-coloured terracotta with vertical streaks looks like old, worn plaster in an Italian townhouse, and against it a white, line-drawn ginkgo leaf glows. Lilac and plum accents and a strip of sage at the top cool the warm wall, so the interior gains a boho character without becoming overwhelming.

What can you see in the design?

The background divides into two zones. A narrow strip at the top is pale, olive-sage, and below it the wall turns into rust-coloured terracotta with vertical streaks and scuffs like old plaster, with a delicate linen weave. The brightest element is a large ginkgo leaf drawn in white lines in the left part of the middle, with a white stem reaching the bottom edge; on a wall 260 cm high it is about 130 cm tall and about 230 cm wide. Behind it and lower down stands an even larger leaf in a muted, brownish pink. On the left side of the image grow leaves drawn in terracotta line. In the right part of the middle, on tall, olive stems, rises a clump of leaves in shades of plum and lilac, reaching the top edge, and by the right edge stand pale, pinkish-white leaves with crumpled edges. Low on the right the drawing returns to rust.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a living room with a terracotta floor, whitewashed walls and a low sofa in lilac linen, HEATHER FRESCO ties the rust-coloured rug to the colour of the upholstery; the white leaf stays above the backrest and brightens the middle of the wall. In a study with a walnut desk and an armchair in plum velvet, the clump of lilac leaves repeats the upholstery, and the dense streaks of the background add warmth to the room in the evening light of a lamp. In a small restaurant or trattoria, with olive tablecloths and rattan chairs, the design gives the dining room a backdrop that recalls an old Italian wall, and the pale strip at the top visually lifts it. It looks best with wood, clay, linen and warm white; with cool greys the terracotta loses depth.

How do you choose the size and material?

HEATHER FRESCO is a single image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. At a height of 260 cm the full image is about 460 cm wide; on a narrower wall choose whether the white leaf on the left of the image or the lilac clump on the right should dominate the crop.
