Terracotta vein lines draw a few huge ginkgo leaves on a warm, sandy background, rising from the floor on long, straight stalks. The design has few elements and plenty of calm background, but its line is expressive, so the wall looks like a large drawing that warms a living room, a hall or a restaurant dining room.

What can you see in the design?

On a smooth, warm background in sandy beige stand a few huge ginkgo leaves, each filled with a dense network of thin terracotta vein lines. The largest occupies the left and middle parts of the image and reaches almost to the top edge; on a wall 260 cm high it is about 215 cm wide. On the right side of the image two more leaves stand on the longest, straight stalks – the stalk of the leaf by the right edge is about 160 cm long. Lower down, by the left edge and at the bottom in the middle, smaller leaves overlap. In the upper left part and in the middle, behind the terracotta lines, pale leaves with a white and light beige line show through, which give the design depth. At this height the whole image, in the proportions of the file, is about 465 cm wide.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a 1970s-style living room, with travertine on the floor, a rounded cream sofa and rust-coloured cushions, the terracotta lines repeat the colour of the fabrics, and the sandy background goes with stone and walnut. A low sofa will hide only the lower stalks. In a restaurant or café, a long bench upholstered in rust velvet, round oak tables and bistro chairs with woven seats make a warm, Mediterranean interior with the design, in which the huge leaves can be seen from every table. In a hall with sandy stone on the floor, a walnut bench and a jute basket, the image is the first thing you see on opening the door. The design suits boho, Mediterranean and Japandi styles, and in north-facing rooms the sandy beige of the background will add warmth to the cool light.

How do you choose the size and material?

We print this image to the size of your wall, and you choose the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. Because the composition is built from three huge leaves, the crop matters a great deal here: on a wall about 3 m wide you can fit the whole of the largest leaf or the pair of leaves on the right of the image, but not both parts at once. The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, with the texture of natural canvas – the most versatile, on which the smooth background gains a fine weave – and Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with the texture of trowelled plaster, a structured material that, together with the terracotta and sand, recalls a drawing on a plastered Mediterranean wall. As an alternative, choose Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain, neither smooth nor satin, which blends with the sandy colour of the background, or Mura Natur – an eco-friendly, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic non-woven, on which the thin terracotta lines stay clean.
