INTERVAL - cream and grey reed wall mural for the living room

Two clusters of reeds draw back towards the edges of the wall, leaving a calm, grey space in the middle. This rhythm – dense, empty, then dense again – brings order to the room without a single dominant motif. The cream plumes at the outer edge of each cluster stand out against the dark ones and brighten the wall even on an overcast day.

What does the design show?

On the left of the image grows a cluster of four plumes. The outermost one is pale, feathery and cream; the next ones are dark, grey-olive and bend to the right, as if the wind had just passed through them. On the right of the image stand three plumes: two dark ones and one cream, closest to the right-hand edge. The plumes float in the upper half on slender stems, while lower down the long, narrow reed leaves grow denser, and between the clusters only a few blades remain. The background is grey, with horizontal, dry-brushed strokes and a fine weave reminiscent of canvas. A calm, empty band runs along the top. The palette is made up of grey, cream, grey olive and graphite in the shadows of the leaves. On a wall 260 cm high, the image is about 460 cm wide, a single plume measures about 80–100 cm, and the band of leaves takes up roughly the bottom 100 cm.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a living room with a longer wall, about 3.5 m wide or more, both clusters and the empty centre settle behind the sofa into a clear rhythm. Linen, oak and putty tones echo the cream and grey of the plumes, and low furniture covers at most the band of leaves, never the plumes. In a kitchen with a dining area, this grey and cream reed wall mural quietens the wall behind the table: the motif-free centre does not compete with the tableware. Muted, powder-pink chairs and dark wood will stand out clearly against the cool grey. In a bedroom, choose a crop with the right-hand cluster and the cream plume above the headboard – the pale plume brings the wall to life in the warm light of a bedside lamp. The design suits Scandinavian and Japandi styles and understated interiors in period apartment buildings.

How do you choose the size and material?

Each design is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. On a narrower wall, shift the crop so that a whole cluster fits, rather than cutting a plume at the edge. The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, with a natural canvas weave, the most versatile option and one that echoes the weave visible in the background, and Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with a trowelled plaster texture that deepens the horizontal brushstrokes, especially in light falling from the side. As an alternative, consider Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain – it is neither smooth nor satin, so you will see the grain up close, for example next to the bed – or Mura Natur, an eco-friendly, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic non-woven, on which the grey of the background stays flat and calm.

How do you buy with confidence?

Before you order the whole wall, order a sample from the product page: we send a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials within 1–3 working days. Hold it against the wall at different times of day and check how the cream and grey look in your light next to your furniture, and how the texture of the material looks up close. On the product page you can also create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, and on request we will prepare a studio visualisation within 1–2 working days. If you would like a warmer cream or a different arrangement of the clusters, the studio will adapt the composition, colours and crop to your interior.
