LAGOON LEAP - turquoise whale wall mural for a bathroom and living room

A white whale cuts across the wall diagonally, from tail to head, and around it swirl turquoises, blues and cream clouds. It is a design full of movement: the diagonal line of the body, a thick, painterly texture and a strong colour that sets the character of the whole room.

What does the design show?

LAGOON LEAP shows the whale up close: it takes up almost the whole width of the image. The tail rises in the upper left, the body drops in an arc towards the centre, and the head, with a dark grey, striped throat, points towards the right-hand edge. A long white fin extends from under the head to the left and down, to the middle of the lower half of the image. The back is white with cream highlights.

The background can be read as both sky and water: at the top, white and yellowish-cream patches of cloud; lower down, turquoise and blue frothing like waves; and along the bottom edge darker navy and green accents. The paint looks as though it was applied thickly with a palette knife; this relief is part of the printed image, a play of light and shadow. On a wall 260 cm high the image is about 460 cm wide, the whale stretches for about 4 m, and its white fin is about 1.4 m long.

AQUA DREAMER, another turquoise design in this collection, is calmer: there the whale swims horizontally to the left, and the image looks smoother. Here it turns to the right, the composition runs along the diagonal, and the pronounced relief and dark throat make the picture stronger, suited also to a bathroom and an adult living room.

Which interior does it suit?

In a bathroom, a turquoise whale wall mural extends the theme of water. With a pale floor and a matt white bath, it is the only strong colour, and the whale’s white repeats the white of the ceramics. A freestanding bath about 60 cm high will cover only the lower band of turquoise and the tips of the fins.

In a living room, LAGOON LEAP replaces a large painting above the sofa or sideboard. It suits seaside and modernist interiors: polished concrete, white linen, teak, ceramics. A sideboard about 75 cm high ends just under the whale’s head, so the eye and the striped throat remain uncovered.

In a playroom, other qualities count: the whale is huge, white and clearly set off from the background, and the turquoise is vivid and saturated. A low table, stools and cushions stay beneath its belly. For a small child’s bedroom, choose a gentler design from this collection instead.

How do you choose the size and material?

LAGOON LEAP is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the dimensions, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. The whale takes up about 4 m of the image’s roughly 4.6 m width, so on a narrower wall you have to choose: a crop with the head and long fin, or a crop with the tail and back.

For this design we recommend above all Mura Vinyl Canvas and Mura Vinyl Intonaco. Canvas has the weave of natural canvas and is the most versatile: with paint that in the image looks thickly laid on, it gives the impression of a large canvas. Intonaco has a trowelled plaster texture, is structured and emphasises the relief visible in the image, especially in side light. The alternatives are Mura Vinyl Sabbia, a pronounced coarse sand grain that is neither smooth nor satin and suits the seaside character of the design, and Mura Natur, an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic.

How can you buy with confidence?

A strong turquoise is worth seeing in person before it covers a whole wall. You order a sample from the product page: it is a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, which we ship in 1–3 working days. On it you can check the colours and the texture of the material next to tiles, taps or the fabric of your sofa.

On the product page you can create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, and on request we will prepare a studio visualisation in 1–2 working days and adapt the composition, colours and crop of the design to the interior. Orders usually take 3–7 working days to complete, and shipping in Poland and Europe is free; for other countries the rate from the basket applies. On request we arrange installation anywhere in Europe, quoted individually, and the printing is eco-friendly and certified.

Calmer whales on beige, blue and navy skies are shown in the Sky Whales collection. You will find other images of water and coast among wall murals with a sea theme, and you can discuss the crop for your own bathroom or living room during a consultation with the studio.
