MANDARIN - wall mural with orange ginkgo leaves

A few huge leaves in terracotta, orange and dark green fill the wall like an abstract painting on a large scale. Warm colours clash with cool green, so the room gains personality, and the whole stays coherent thanks to the blurred, mint light in the background. What can you see in the design?

On the left of the image, high up, spreads a leaf in terracotta and orange, and below it a paler, peach-cream one. In the middle a dark, sea-green leaf overlaps a yellow-orange fan on a thin, orange stalk; lower down, by the bottom edge, lies a muted leaf in turquoise green. On the right of the image, high up, a honey-yellow leaf on a long stalk glows, and below it spreads the largest, dark green leaf on a dark stalk. On a wall 260 cm high the largest leaves are about 110–135 cm wide, so you will read them even from the far end of the room. The background is green and sea-green on the left and at the bottom, and in the middle on the right it brightens to a mint cream. The whole is covered by a dense, layered paint texture with rust-coloured flecks, which the flat print itself reproduces.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a living room with a travertine floor, a terracotta velvet sofa and a dark green leather armchair, the design gathers the colours of the whole room in one place, as in a Roman flat from the 1970s. In a restaurant with walnut tables and green chairs, the large leaves are legible from every spot in the room and form a recognisable backdrop for guests. In a meeting room or a design office, the warm palette enlivens the long wall behind the table, and during a conversation the image does not distract, because it has few small details. Warm evening light lifts the orange, and daylight the green, so the wall changes mood over the course of the day.

How do you choose the size and material?

MANDARIN is a single image printed to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you set the size, material and crop; at a height of 260 cm the whole image is about 460 cm wide. Because the leaves are large, on a wall narrower than 3 metres choose one pair: the terracotta and peach leaves from the left of the image, or the honey-yellow and dark green ones from the right.
