MATCHA BRUSHWORK - matcha green ginkgo wall mural for a dining room

A fresh matcha green with vertical streaks looks like a wall painted with a wide brush, and across it spread large, pale ginkgo leaves. The design gives a dining room or kitchen a cheerful, plant backdrop – the darker green appears only in the background, and there are no flowing, silky bands here.

What can you see in the design?

The ground is pale green, with distinct vertical brushstrokes: by the left and right edges they turn into lighter, creamy yellow streaks, and to the right of centre into a darker green. The painterly texture is part of the print – the wall stays flat. On this ground lie large leaves with cream outlines and delicate veins.

On the left of the image, at the top, two leaves overlap, a dark green fan shows through above the middle, and in the middle and on the right stand large leaves on long, curved stalks. The lower left corner is filled by a large, translucent leaf. Cream and dark green stalks cross low down in the middle part of the image. On a wall 260 cm high the leaf in the middle is about 140 cm high and about 2 m wide, and the whole image about 4.6 m wide.

Which interiors does it suit?

Dining room. Matcha green goes well with terracotta, scrubbed oak and chairs with woven seats, as in the dining room setting in a Provençal bastide. Place the table in the middle of the room, and the wall behind it will show the leaves at full height above the chair backs.

Kitchen with an island or table. The design looks best on a wall without cabinets, beside a long table or a worktop in the middle of the room. Pale green goes with marble, oak, linen and a bowl of limes on the island worktop.

Japanese-style study. Pale green and the simple, cream outlines of the leaves create a quiet backdrop for work, which suits a walnut desk on slender legs, a sisal rug, a cane chair and a sheet of Japanese paper.

How do you choose the size and material?

MATCHA BRUSHWORK is one large image printed to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you set the size, material and crop. On a wall narrower than about 4.6 m you can move the crop to the left, to keep the two overlapping leaves and the translucent leaf in the corner, or to the right, towards the darker streaks of the ground.
