MAUVE SHORE - ginkgo wall mural in mauve and peach for a bedroom

The ground passes from deep sea green to a warm, sandy beige, like a shore at dusk, and above it float translucent, mauve ginkgo leaves. The pastel palette quietens the room and warms it at the same time, so the design feels at home where you rest and get ready for the evening.

What can you see in the design?

The colour of the ground changes smoothly: on the left of the image and by the bottom edge it is sea green, in the top right corner sandy beige. Fine vertical stripes, visible in the print, run across the whole image. In the upper and middle part, from the left to the right edge, stands a row of five large, translucent leaves drawn with thin lines in a pale mauve shade. The leaf just right of centre has a stalk ending in a small curl, and the leaf in the top right corner curls out like a funnel.

The lower third is filled with soft, peach waves of dense lines. They flow from the left to the right edge, and left of centre they curl into an arc. On a wall 260 cm high the band of waves is about 85 cm high, the second leaf from the left about 140 cm, and the whole image about 4.6 m wide.

Which interiors does it suit?

Bedroom. Peach and mauve look calm with bedding in the same shades, pale terrazzo and maple wood. A low headboard stays within the band of waves, so the leaves above the bed remain uncovered – as in the bedroom setting in a 1930s apartment in Miami Beach.

Bathroom with a freestanding bath. The sandy beige of the ground goes with tadelakt, limestone and cedar wood. An oval bath in front of the wall hides only the lower waves, and the translucent leaves can be seen from the bath and from the door.

Dressing room. On a wall without wardrobes, above a low walnut chest of drawers, the mauve lines create a delicate backdrop for mirrors and a velvet bench. Pastel shades alter the perception of the colours of clothes less strongly than a dark, saturated wall does.

How do you choose the size and material?

MAUVE SHORE is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. When the wall is narrower than about 4.6 m, choose in the crop whether the green, cooler side with the arc of waves matters more, or the warm, beige side with the funnel leaf.

Look at it in the morning and by the bedside lamp and check how the mauve, the peach and the texture of the material look at your place. On request the studio will also adjust the composition, colours and crop to the interior, for example by warming the green part of the ground.
