In the streaks of morning light that filter between the tall trunks, four shaggy little creatures leap out of shallow water and throw their paws up in the air. They laugh with their eyes closed, and the water beneath them splashes into bright, golden reflections. It is a scene about a single feeling: shared joy, caught mid-leap. SPLASHING SPRITES is a painterly oil illustration with visible brush marks, kept in deep greens, misty white and warm russet — a horizontal composition, conceived for the full width of one wall in a child's room.

What do you see in the design?

In the foreground is a dense band of vegetation: dark green leaves, pink and coral flowers, small orange berries and white petals scattered on both sides of the frame. The center is taken up by a bright, shallow stream, and in it four fairy-tale sprites — three white, furry figures with small horns and one russet, the largest, with fox ears and a tail, standing in the middle with arms spread wide. In the background tall, slender trunks blur into a milky mist; between them hangs a small turquoise nesting box. The light comes from deep in the forest, straight onto the stream, so the middle of the picture is the brightest and the edges deliberately darkened. Palette: bottle and sage green, creamy white, rusty orange, accents of yellow and red.

What kind of interior does it suit?

In a child's room it looks best on the wall behind the bed or on the wall by the play corner — where you can look at it from a distance. Leave the other walls in warm white or pale ivory, and choose furniture in light wood: birch, oak, pine. Textiles in sage green and a single rusty blanket will pick up the color of the russet sprite's fur. You will find more forest scenes with fairy-tale animals from the same collection in one place.

In a preschool, a daycare or the children's area of a family café this design works like a large picture from a book: it draws the eye and calms at the same time. It works in a play hall and in a children's clinic waiting room, where it is worth having something on the wall that will hold attention for longer. Pair it with low built-in units in natural wood and soft seating in green.

If you are looking for a calmer backdrop for the same space, compare this design with lighter, less contrasting forest compositions — the collection includes both flat illustrations and dense painterly scenes.

What scale and how to crop it?

The sprite figures take up roughly the middle third of the picture's height; at typical wall scale the russet hero is the size of a young child, so his face lands at the eye level of a small viewer. You can safely cover the bottom band of vegetation and the glassy surface of the water with a bed, a chest of drawers or a bookcase up to the halfway mark — the composition loses nothing, because the center of gravity lies on the line of the raised paws. On a narrower wall, crop symmetrically from the sides, taking off equal amounts of flowers on the left and the right; on a lower one — from the bottom, leaving the misty trunks in the background. You set the cropping for your own wall size in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on this product page.

Which material to choose?

For this design I recommend Mura Vinyl Canvas. The natural canvas texture enters into a dialogue with the visible brush marks and the dense, oil-like layer of paint — the water splashes and the sprites' fur then look as if painted directly on the wall. It is the most versatile choice, and the vinyl is washable and durable, which has practical significance on a wall in a child's room.

If a material without a vinyl layer matters to you, choose Mura Natur — a natural, eco-friendly non-woven material. It is perfectly matte and scatters focused light, so the bright center of the composition will not reflect the glare of a lamp or a window; it is also odorless and hypoallergenic, which often settles the matter in a small child's room. You will see the full list of materials with the price per square meter in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on this product page.

How can you check the design before buying?

You can create an AI visualization on a photo of your own room yourself on this product page — you upload a photo of your wall and immediately see the result. On request, our team will prepare a studio visualization within 1-2 business days; you can send the request through the website's contact page. From there you can also order a sample: a print of about 90 × 50 cm, on up to two materials, which we ship within 1-3 business days. Order fulfillment usually takes 3-7 business days, the print is eco-friendly and certified, and shipping within Poland and Europe is free. On request, the studio will adapt the composition, colors and crop to your interior, and we will arrange installation throughout Europe after an individual quote. Take a look at the full Whispering Woodlands collection if you want to see all the forest compositions side by side.

Frequently asked questions

What is the lead time?

Usually 7–10 working days from layout approval. Before printing, our studio sends you a layout preview for approval.

What if the print differs from the sample?

We guarantee that the colour and texture of your wallpaper will match a sample of the same design on the same material: if it differs, we will reprint the whole wallpaper at no cost. If a single panel has a defect, we will reprint the defective panels as part of a complaint.

Can I manage the installation myself?

The wallpaper comes as numbered panels; you apply the paste to the wall and hang the panels edge to edge. For large formats we recommend a professional installer; on request, we arrange installation across Europe with an individual quote.

Which material should I choose?

Mura Vinyl Canvas has a canvas texture and is the most versatile; Mura Vinyl Intonaco has a float-finished plaster texture. The alternatives are Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a distinct sand texture, and Mura Natur, a matt non-woven; you will see the difference best on a free sample.
