MINT SORBET - mint wall mural with ginkgo leaves for a bathroom

A mint haze takes up most of the wall, and low down, above the powder pink, a row of hazy ginkgo leaves drifts across. The whole thing looks like a view through a steamed-up window after a hot bath: soft, bright and without a single sharp edge, which is why the design calms even a small bathroom.

What can you see in the design?

The upper two fifths of the image are a smooth, mint-aquamarine background without any motif. Below, across the full width, drift a dozen or so cream-white ginkgo leaves on hair-thin stalks; the veins are barely visible and the edges blurred. The most clearly drawn are the leaf by the left edge, the fan in the left part of the middle and the highest leaf just to the right of centre; the rest vanish into the haze.

The lower band is made of soft, blurred strokes in powder pink and peach, and at the very bottom edge darker, sage-green shadows appear. On a wall 260 cm high, about 95 cm of pure mint remains above the leaves, a single leaf is about 45–80 cm wide, and the pink band takes up roughly the lowest 70 cm. The whole image is deliberately soft-focus, in a very light, pastel tone.

Which interiors does it suit?

Bathroom. Mint and pink go with terrazzo, the white enamel of a bath and pastel towels. A freestanding bath against the wall will hide only the pink band, while the leaves stay fully visible above its rim. The room setting shows this in a modernist villa in Gdynia.

Dining room. By a round table, the pale mint freshens the wall and does not compete with the colour of the tableware. It suits white marble, pale oak and chairs upholstered in mint or pink fabric; in the gallery photo of the wall you can see that the leaves float just above the chair backs.

Bedroom. In a bedroom the pink lower part of the design balances the cool mint, and a low bed will hide only part of this band. Choose bedding in sage and pink, birch or bleached pine wood and a wool rug.

How do you choose the size and material?

This design is one image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. At a height of 260 cm the full width of the image is about 4.6 m; in a bathroom, where the wall is often narrower, choose a section with the highest leaf in the crop, or move it above the bath.
