CURIOUS CROWD - woodland gathering among fly agarics

The sun breaks through between the trunks and lays a bright patch on the moss, and in this clearing stands a whole gathering that has just noticed someone is looking at it. Big round eyes, astonished expressions, the raised paw of a russet fox, an owl on a branch half-closing its eyelids — everyone has frozen mid-gesture, as if their council had been interrupted. CURIOUS CROWD is painted densely, with the soft brush familiar from book illustration, in lush greens, warm beiges and the red of fly agarics. It is a design for one wall that is meant to be the most interesting spot in the room.

What do you see in the design?

In the foreground, at a child's eye level, stands a tight group: a russet fox with a raised paw, a little hedgehog, a green frog, fluffy birds with soft feathers and a big furry creature in a canvas vest. On the right, on a branch, perches a gray owl, and a turquoise bird flies over the clearing. The sides and the bottom edge are overgrown with dense vegetation — big leaves, ferns, moss and red fly agarics with white spots. The background brightens toward the center: tree trunks sink into the haze, and the light falls from above, straight onto the clearing. The composition is horizontal and centrally focused, with the color strongest in the middle, cooler and darker toward the edges.

What kind of interior does it suit?

In a child's room it works best on the wall behind the bed or by a reading nook — where you can look for a long time and find someone new every time. Leave the other walls in white or warm beige, add light wood and bedding in muted green. If you are looking for a calmer backdrop, compare this design with the lighter scenes in the Whispering Woodlands collection of forest illustrations.

In a playroom it works above low bookcases — the bottom band of leaves can partly hide behind the furniture, while the figures stay visible. Add linen curtains, a moss-colored wool rug and small touches of rust. You will find similarly dense, character-filled compositions among the fairy-tale scenes with forest animals.

In a preschool, a children's clinic waiting room or a family café this wall immediately sets a friendly mood and gives children something to do while they wait. Pair it with plywood, wicker baskets and the green of potted plants.

What scale and how to crop it?

On a typical wall, the big furry creature in the middle is the scale of a young child, and the fox and the owl are not much smaller. The center of gravity lies in the bright clearing between the figures, roughly at the middle of the width. The bottom band of vegetation is a safe zone — you can cover it with a bed, a chest of drawers or a bookcase without harming the scene. On a narrower wall, crop symmetrically from the sides, because the edges are mostly leaves; on a lower one, shorten it from the bottom, leaving the light above the treetops. You set the cropping for your own wall size in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on this product page.

Which material to choose?

For such a painterly scene I recommend Mura Vinyl Canvas — the natural canvas texture emphasizes the brush marks in the fur and feathers, and the vinyl is washable and durable, which matters in a child's room with a wall within arm's reach. If you prefer a surface without a vinyl layer, choose Mura Natur — an eco-friendly non-woven material, perfectly matte, odorless and hypoallergenic; it scatters focused light, so the sunlit green will not glare. You will see the full list of materials with the price per square meter in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on this product page.

How can you check the design before buying?

On this product page you can create an AI visualization on a photo of your own room — you upload a photo of your wall and see the result in your own space. From here you can also order a sample: a print of about 90 × 50 cm, on up to two materials, which we ship within 1-3 business days. The DECOMURA team will prepare a studio visualization on request within 1-2 business days, and through the website's contact page you can ask for the composition, colors and crop to be adapted to your interior. Every design is printed as one large image, made to measure for your wall; fulfillment usually takes 3-7 business days, the print is eco-friendly and certified, and shipping within Poland and Europe is free (49 € to other countries). On request we will also arrange professional installation throughout Europe, individually quoted. See all the forest designs in this collection if you want to compare several walls side by side.
