NAVY NOCTURNE - navy wall mural with cream ginkgo leaves

Against the dark navy, pale ginkgo leaves glow as in a garden after dusk. The design deepens the room and gives it an evening mood, but the cream leaves and the lightened right side stop it from retreating into darkness. Rust and ochre accents warm the cool navy.

What can you see in the design?

The background is dark: deep navy with vertical, worn streaks and ochre splashes, turning into a pale grey-blue in the right part of the image. Floating on it are cream, ivory-coloured leaves with a soft, painterly texture; some have a rust-red, terracotta tinge at the base. The leaves stand on the left of the image (the outermost is cut off by the edge), in the middle at the top, in the middle lower down – this one has the strongest coral accent – and the two largest to the right of centre. Near the bottom edge smaller cream and ochre leaves with rust flecks thicken, and thin ochre stalks run down towards the bottom. On a wall 260 cm high the two largest leaves are each about 100 cm wide, and their top edges fall about 30 and 45 cm below the ceiling; the leaf with the coral ends about 90 cm above the floor.

Which interiors does it suit?

Restaurant. The navy of the background is repeated in velvet chairs, and white tablecloths repeat the cream colour of the leaves. In the setting in a Parisian Haussmann-style building, round tables with white tablecloths cover only the lower band with the small leaves, and the large leaves remain above them.

Bedroom. Behind the bed the dark design quietens the room in the evening, and ivory bedding and a rust-coloured throw directly repeat the colours of the leaves. Choose a low bed without a tall headboard so that it does not cut across the leaf with the coral in the middle.

Hotel. In a hotel lounge or lobby the navy wall gives guests a sense of evening intimacy. The cognac leather of the armchairs and a marble table with a brass lamp play off the rust-coloured bases of the leaves.

How do you choose the size and material?

NAVY NOCTURNE is a single large image printed to the size of your wall; at a height of 260 cm it is about 4.6 m wide. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. If the wall is narrower, decide whether the crop should keep the darker left part with the coral leaf, or the lighter right part, with the grey-blue background and the two largest leaves.
