NOVEMBER FOG - wall mural with misty ginkgo leaves for a bedroom

Tall, thin stems carry ginkgo leaves above the mist that lingers by the floor like a November morning over a meadow. The wall becomes quiet and spacious: the darker leaves at the top draw the eye, and the blurred lower part blends calmly with the furniture.

What can you see in the design?

On very long, grey-brown stalks stand eight leaves in taupe, beige and white. Highest up float the two largest and darkest, grey-taupe fans: one in the middle, just below the top edge, the other closer to the right edge. On the left side of the image stand two lighter, beige leaves, and lower down, to the right of centre, one beige-brown leaf. Three white, semi-transparent leaves show through low in the mist: a large one on the left, a large one to the right of centre and a smaller one by the right edge.

The lower third of the design is a mist of grey-blue, beige and taupe brushstrokes with vertical streaks and tiny ochre flecks. The upper part of the background is cream, rubbed back in pale streaks, and the whole has a matt, painterly texture. On a wall 260 cm high the middle leaf is about 1 m wide, and the misty band by the floor about 90 cm high.

Which interiors does it suit?

Bedroom. The mist reaches roughly the height of a low headboard, so the bed will cover only the blurred part and the leaves will stay whole above it. Taupe and slate grey go with smoked oak and crumpled linen.

Living room. Behind a long, low sofa in mushroom-beige velvet, the design looks like a view through a window on a cloudy day. It goes with pale, whitewashed boards and pewter, and the wall needs no additional pictures.

Study or writing room. The tall stems bring order to the wall behind a desk, and the muted palette does not distract at work. It looks best in daylight from the side, which brings out the worn streaks in the cream background.

How do you choose the size and material?

NOVEMBER FOG is one large image printed to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you set the size, material and crop. On a wall 260 cm high the whole design is about 4.6 m wide; on a narrower wall decide whether the crop should keep the dark leaf from the middle or the pair of lighter ones on the left.
