ONYX ESTUARY - turquoise onyx wall mural with gold for bathrooms

A wall like a sheet of translucent stone seen against the light: cool turquoise at the top, warm cream at the bottom, and a pale gold line between them. This turquoise onyx wall mural warms a light interior and gives it one strong point on the left, while leaving the rest of the wall light.

What can you see in ONYX ESTUARY?

The pattern resembles onyx: soft, transparent layers overlap one another as in a thinly cut slab. A deep turquoise patch rests against the left edge at mid-height on the wall. A pale gold vein descends along its upper edge, from the left edge. It crosses the centre of the wall and runs diagonally into the lower right part, where it spreads into a wider, golden streak. Near the centre a thinner branch leaves it and climbs to the right, upwards.

The bottom centre is filled with warm cream with a peachy tint. The top and the right side are taken up by light turquoise with a small grey-turquoise speck to the right of centre, and in the upper right the gold scatters into fine dust. This gold is the colour of the print, pale and sandy, with no metallic shine; the impression of transparency, too, is part of the image, not a property of the surface.

It is easy to confuse with ZEPHYR TRAIL, so compare three places. There the dark turquoise sits at the top; here it keeps to the left edge. There the vein reaches the right edge; here it descends towards the bottom. There the whole wall is cool; here cream warms the lower part.

What kind of interior does it suit?

Bathroom. The cream in the lower part of the design goes with the beige stone of the floor, and the turquoise with the white of the ceramics. A freestanding bath will cover only the bottom of the wall, so the dark patch and most of the vein will stay above its rim. Warm light from wall lamps brings out the cream and gold, cool light the turquoise. Dining room. A table with a cream top and pale leather chairs echo the bottom of the image, and a brass lamp the colour of the vein; at the table you can see the fine lines and gold dust up close. Hotel suite. Behind a bed with a low cream headboard, a single image fills the whole wall and replaces decoration above the bed.

How do you choose the size and material?

The design is a single large image that we print to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you enter the size, choose the material and move the crop. On a wall 260 cm high, the file with its 16:9 proportions is about 4.6 m wide. The deep turquoise patch then takes up about 110 cm from the left edge and is about 115 cm high, and the cream field at the bottom stretches over about 200 cm. On a narrow wall, choose: the left part with the dark patch, or the right part with the gold dust.

Start with Mura Vinyl Canvas or Mura Vinyl Intonaco. The first has a natural canvas texture and is the most versatile; its weave slightly softens the transitions between turquoise and cream. The second, the structured one, has a trowelled plaster texture and gives the pattern the character of a wall rather than a polished slab.
