PALE TAPERS - tall misty trees mural for hallway and living room

Tall, pale trees rise through the full height of the wall and draw the eye upwards, like a forest in the early morning before the mist lifts. The room feels taller and quieter, while the grey-blue sky and warm sand soften the hard lines of furniture, doors and stairs. This is a wall that calms the interior without a single loud motif.

What does the design show?

The image shows a grove of slender trees with feathery crowns that taper upwards like spires. The upper two thirds are taken up by a pale, grey-blue sky. On the left of the image stands a group of trees in shades of ivory and creamy beige, slightly left of centre a straight white trunk reaches all the way to the top edge, and right of centre rises the brightest, white tree with a tall, narrow crown. Towards the right edge the trees thin out and turn into fine, bare twigs. The lower part is filled with a band of warm sand with a thicket of thin, vertical stems, darkest in the bottom left corner. Along the very bottom edge run white, horizontal streaks like those left by a dry brush, giving the whole a painterly texture. On a wall 260 cm high, the image is about 464 cm wide, the crown of the white tree measures about 110 cm, and the sandy band takes up roughly the bottom 85 cm.

Which interior does it suit?

The design looks its best in a hallway or living room. In a tall hallway the vertical trunks emphasise the height of a stairwell or mezzanine, and a bench or console will at most cover the calm band of stems near the floor. In a japandi or Scandinavian living room, this tall misty trees wall mural fills the wall behind the sofa: linen upholstery, light oak and rattan echo the ivory and warm sand, while grey-blue cushions pick up the colour of the sky. On a wall about 4.6 m wide and 260 cm high you will see the whole grove from left to right, with the white tree right of centre. In a dining nook in the kitchen you view the design from the distance of the table, about 1–2 m, so up close you can see the fine twigs and feathery crowns. In cool, north-facing window light the sky looks greyer, while under warm lamps in the evening the sandy lower part comes to the fore.

How do you choose the size and material?

Pale Tapers is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the width, height, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page; on a narrower wall, shift the crop so that it keeps the white tree or the cream group on the left of the image. The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, the most versatile, with a natural canvas weave that gives the vertical stems a subtle woven feel, and Mura Vinyl Intonaco with a trowelled plaster texture that brings out the brush streaks and the misty background – the wall then looks like old plaster with a painted grove. As an alternative, consider Mura Vinyl Sabbia with its pronounced coarse sand grain, clearly visible up close and therefore suited to a wall viewed from a few metres away, for example in a hallway. The second alternative is Mura Natur: an eco-friendly matt non-woven, odourless and hypoallergenic, on which the pale colours stay soft.
