PALISADE - wall mural with dense grey grasses for the dining room

An even row of tall reeds turns the wall into a calm, grey curtain of plants with cloudy light showing through. The dark plumes stand like a palisade from the floor almost to the ceiling. The room gains a vertical rhythm and a sense of order without losing its quiet, because the whole image stays in muted, matt greys.

What does the design show?

A row of five dense reed plumes stands across the full width of the image. One grows at the left edge, the two largest fill the left and central parts, and two more occupy the right part of the image. The outermost plumes at both edges are slightly cropped, so the row looks as if it continues beyond the wall. The plumes are straight and feathery, drawn with a fine, dense line in graphite grey with an olive tint, and reach almost to the top edge. The bottom third is filled with a thicket of thin blades. The background is light grey and cloudy, with darker patches in the upper part and a fine grain reminiscent of plaster. On a wall 260 cm high, the image is about 460 cm wide, the feathery upper parts of the plumes are between about 130 and 145 cm high and about 90 to 120 cm wide, and the band of blades at the bottom is about 85 cm high. Within the collection, it stands out for its even rhythm of dark plumes with no pale ones.

Which interior does it suit?

In a dining room, the row of plumes brings order to the wall behind the table: a round table and chairs cover only the band of blades, while the plumes remain visible above the heads of those seated. The grey pairs well with walnut-toned wood and with upholstery in dusty pink or terracotta. In a home library, the graphite plumes go with oak bookcases and cognac leather armchairs; low furniture does not hide the drawing. In a hallway, where you pass the wall from a metre or two away, you will see the fine line and the grain of the background, and from further into the room, the rhythm of the five plumes. This dense grey grasses wall mural suits modernist and minimalist interiors where colour comes from furniture and textiles and the wall is meant to stay calm.

How do I choose the size and material?

Each design is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page: on a narrower wall you can keep a section with two or three plumes, on a wide one the whole row. The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas and Mura Vinyl Intonaco. Canvas has a natural canvas weave and is the most versatile – it gently softens the fine line of the plumes. Intonaco has a trowelled plaster texture, so it brings out the grainy, cloudy background; you will appreciate this structure up close, for example in a hallway. As an alternative, choose Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain texture – it is neither smooth nor satin, so the grey of the grasses looks even more matt – or Mura Natur, an eco-friendly, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic non-woven, on which the plumes look like a pencil drawing.

How can I buy with confidence?

Before you order the whole wall, order a sample from the product page: we dispatch a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials within 1–3 working days. Hold it against the wall and check how the graphite grey and the material texture look in your light in the morning and in the evening. On the product page you can also create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, and on request we will prepare a studio visualisation within 1–2 working days. On request, the studio can also adapt the composition, colours and crop of the design to your interior. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days, printing is eco-friendly and certified, shipping within Poland and Europe is free, and on request we arrange installation across Europe, individually quoted.

You will find more reeds and grasses in cool greys in the Silver Reeds collection, and calm walls without strong colour in the Minimalist collection. If you are not sure which crop to choose, book a consultation with our studio.
