PAPYRUS STAND - papyrus wall mural in greys and beiges

The dark clump of papyrus stands on the wall like a silhouette above water at dawn, while the pale plants beside it dissolve into mist. This papyrus wall mural in grey and beige quietens the room: it gives it one clear accent on the left and plenty of calm, blue-grey background that gives the furniture space to breathe.

What does the design show?

On the left of the image, roughly from one tenth to one third of its width, rises a clump of papyrus in deep navy. Thin, tall stems start at the bottom edge and reach almost to the top, ending in star-shaped plumes with a fine, needle-like pattern. Around it stand creamy-white plants with fluffy flower heads: right at the left edge, in the centre of the image and higher up, by the right edge. The centre of the right half is left empty – a blue-grey background with horizontal rubbed-back strokes and visible brushstrokes. The bottom third turns into a warm band of taupe and brown ochre, crossed by thin blades of grass.

On a wall 260 cm high, the image is about 460 cm wide. The dark clump then measures about 250 cm in height and occupies a band about 130 cm wide, a single dark plume is about 40 cm, and the warm band at the bottom reaches up to about 85 cm.

Which interiors does it suit?

Living room in a Japandi or rustic style: a light sofa in linen upholstery, honey-toned wood and rattan echo the cream and ochre tones of the lower band, while the navy clump gives the eye an anchor above the furniture. Place the sofa in the centre or on the right, and the papyrus on the left of the image stays in full view. Bedroom with whitewashed oak and grey bedding: the cool greys of the background look good in diffused, north-facing light, and the calm, empty background on the right leaves space for a headboard and bedside lamps. Bathroom with sand-coloured stone and dark fittings: the beiges and browns extend the colour of the wall cladding, and the navy ties in with black taps. The design looks best alongside matt, natural materials, and less so with chrome and cool white.

How do I choose the size and material?

PAPYRUS STAND is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. On a narrow wall, keep the left part with the dark clump in the crop, as it leads the composition; on a wall measuring about 460 × 260 cm you will see the whole landscape, including the empty background on the right.
