PEACH SKEIN - green and pink ginkgo wall mural for a living room

A thin, peach line on a cool sage ground warms the room without a heavy colour. The wavy ginkgo leaves look as if plaited from thread, and loose strands flow through the composition, leading the eye from left to right. It is an image for the wall behind a sofa or bed, with which the interior becomes soft and calm.

What can you see in the design?

The ground is a sage and sea green with fine vertical stripes that resemble a canvas weave – this is a drawing in the print, not a relief on the wall. Peach-pink lines build translucent ginkgo leaves on it, through which the green of the ground shows. In the upper half, from the left of the image to the middle, rises a clump of several wavy, overlapping leaves. On the right of the image a large, flat fan drawn with straight, radiating strokes opens out and reaches the right edge. In the lower left corner lies a smaller leaf, and thin stalks converge low down, in the left half. The top and middle are crossed by tangled streaks of pale, pinkish threads, like an unwound skein of silk.

On a wall 260 cm high the whole image is about 4.6 m wide. The whole clump is then about 2.8 m wide, and the individual wavy leaves in it about 90–130 cm. The fan on the right of the image is about 140 cm wide, and the leaf in the lower left corner about 85 cm.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a living room the clump of leaves falls above the back of the sofa, and low furniture hides only the lower band where the stalks converge. Pink velvet, travertine, pale herringbone oak and walnut pick up the peach lines, and the sage ground calms a room on the sunny side. In a bedroom the design goes with a bed upholstered in sage linen and peach cushions; with a bed with a low headboard you can see the whole fan on the right of the image. In a dressing room with pale terrazzo, brass and a blush pink bench the wall with the pink line becomes a backdrop for a dressing table and clothes in warm shades. The design suits Art Deco, 1960s modernism and a classic apartment with tall windows.

How do you choose the size and material?

PEACH SKEIN is one large image that we print to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you enter the width and height, choose the material and move the crop. On a wall about 3 m wide and 260 cm high roughly two thirds of the image will fit: you can keep the whole clump from the left of the image or move the crop to the right so that it also takes in the fan.

The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, with the texture of natural canvas, the most versatile, and Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with the texture of trowelled plaster, structured. The Canvas weave echoes the vertical stripes of the ground, and Intonaco plaster in side light adds a fine shadow to the pink threads. As an alternative consider Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain, neither smooth nor satin – the grain is visible close up, so choose it for a wall viewed from a few metres away. Mura Natur is an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic; on the matt surface the peach lines stay soft and legible.

Before you order the whole wall, order a sample from the product page: a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, which we ship in 1–3 working days. Look at it in daylight and under a lamp, because the light decides whether the lines look more peach or more pink to you, and compare the textures of the materials. You can create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room yourself on the product page, and on request we will prepare a studio visualisation in 1–2 working days. On request the studio will also adjust the composition, colours and crop, for example by warming the sage ground or moving the clump of pink leaves.
