PEWTER VOILE - light ginkgo leaf wall mural

A cream-white, almost smooth background and large ginkgo leaves spread in an even rhythm give the wall the lightness of a thin voile. Slate, grey and cream fans do not form heavy patches, so the room stays bright, and the design becomes a calm, delicately drawn backdrop for furniture in ivory and grey.

What can you see in the design?

Large ginkgo leaves float evenly across the whole surface of the image, with small gaps of cream-white, almost smooth background left between them. The leaves have a very fine, dense drawing of veins. Some of them are slate, grey-blue, some pale grey, and some ivory and light beige, with a thin beige outline. The darkest fans lie in the upper half of the middle, in the bottom left corner and by the right edge of the image. Behind the leaves only pale, grey watercolour patches show through, so the whole is light and calm, with a distinct rhythm of large, widely spread leaves. On a wall 260 cm high the largest leaves are about 130–160 cm wide, the smaller ones by the top edge about 85 cm, and the whole image, in the proportions of the file, about 450 cm.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a bedroom in a townhouse, with wide oak boards and a bed with a pale grey linen headboard, the design surrounds the bed with a calm rhythm, and the cream bedding and a grey cashmere throw repeat the colours of the leaves. In a living room in the Japandi style, with a low ivory-coloured sofa, an ash coffee table and stoneware, the pale background does not take away the light, and the slate leaves give the wall a clear drawing. In a hotel room or guest suite, a pewter-grey headboard, white bedding and small lamps with silk shades come together with the design into an elegant, neutral whole. It is a good choice for smaller and darker rooms where the wall is to stay light, and for Scandinavian and minimalist interiors.

How do you choose the size and material?

This design is a single image printed to the size of your wall; you set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. Thanks to the even rhythm of the leaves you can move the crop freely – just pay attention to where the two darkest leaves from the upper half of the image fall, because they look best above the middle of the bed or sofa. For such a pale background we recommend the main materials: Mura Vinyl Canvas, with the texture of natural canvas and the most versatile, on which the cream white takes on the warmth of fabric, and the structured Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with the texture of trowelled plaster, which in window light adds a delicate relief to the smooth background.
