POWDER STAMPEDE - herd of horses wall mural in snow for living room

Six horses with golden-beige coats and pale manes run shoulder to shoulder, and a white cloud of snow billows in front of them. The composition is almost symmetrical, so despite the gallop the wall stays orderly: a cool, grey-blue forest at the top, warm gold in the middle and pure white by the floor.

What can you see in the design?

POWDER STAMPEDE is a herd seen straight from the front. Four horses run in the foreground, spread wide, from the left to the right side of the image; two more push their heads out from behind them, one left of centre, the other right. The coats are a golden beige that turns chestnut brown on the foreheads, the manes are cream and flying, and the muzzles are dark. The backdrop is a grey-blue wall of forest; in the upper left and right corners you can make out frosted trunks and branches. Snow kicked up by the hooves hides the legs of the horses on the right and turns into a smooth white expanse with a blue shadow, which fills the lower part of the image. On a wall 260 cm high with the full crop (about 465 cm wide), the largest horse measures about 160 cm from ears to hooves, the heads fall about 130–205 cm above the floor, and the band of smooth snow is about 50 cm.

How do you avoid mistaking it for a similar design?

It is easiest to confuse this design with CHESTNUT RUSH: both show a row of horses charging at the viewer through snow. There the horses are darker, chestnut, with dark manes, and one white horse runs among them. Here they all share the same pale, golden colour and cream manes, so the whole is calmer in colour. The third design of this group, SNOW DRIFTERS, is paler and misty, with five horses.

Which interior does it suit?

In a living room the design goes with a long, low sofa in cream wool, travertine and pale larch: the sofa covers the snow and part of the legs, and the row of heads stays above the backrest. In a hotel lounge with a fireplace, armchairs in caramel leather echo the colour of the coats, and the grey stone of the floor goes with the blue of the forest. In a dining room, a low bench of pale wood against the wall is enough, with the table pulled far enough away that people sitting do not cover the muzzles, which start about 130 cm above the floor. Place lamps at the sides, under the frosted trees.

How do you choose the size and material?

The design is a single image, printed to the size of your wall. You set the dimensions, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. The horses take up about 330 cm of the full 465 cm width (at a height of 260 cm), so this herd of horses wall mural needs a long wall. On a wall about 300 cm wide, five of the six horses fit; set the crop so that the edge falls in the gap between the animals.
