QUARTZ PANE - grey stained glass ginkgo wall mural

White and pale grey leaves with a dark outline form a wall that recalls a stained glass window of milk glass. The almost monochrome palette and strong contrast give the interior an elegant, cool tone, in which black, graphite and dark wood look refined. It is the most graphic of the three palettes of this composition.

What can you see in the design?

The image is filled with large fan-shaped ginkgo leaves, overlapping from the left edge to the right. Their panes are white and pale grey, and the outlines and stalks are dark brown, almost black, so they look like the lead joints in a stained glass window. In the gaps between the leaves you can see dark grey-green and graphite; these give this version its strongest contrast. The widest leaf, in the middle and a little to the right, is about 160 cm wide on a wall 260 cm high. At the top runs a narrow, pale, grey sky, and the lower 60 cm or so is filled with a cracked texture like stone in muted pink, beige and grey. The same composition comes as the pale OPAL PANE with blue and celadon and the warm MOSS PANE in olive and sea-blue; QUARTZ PANE stands out with its almost black outlines, and instead of celadon and olive it has greys and graphite. The impression of glass and cracked stone comes from the print alone, and the wall remains flat.

Which interiors does it suit?

In the entrance hall of a townhouse with a chequerboard of black and white marble, pale leaves with a dark outline echo the rhythm of the floor, and a bench with graphite upholstery hides only the stone-like lower part. In a 1950s dining room with terrazzo, an oval marble table and graphite chairs, the image forms a backdrop against which crystal glassware comes into its own. In a study with a desk of dark, reddish wood, the pink-brown tones of the stone texture harmonise with the desktop, while the black leather armchair echoes the outlines of the leaves. The design works best in cool, even light from the side: the greys then stay clean and the white looks fresh.

How do you choose the size and material?

QUARTZ PANE is a single image printed to the size of your wall. In the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page you enter the size, choose the material and move the crop. At a height of 260 cm the full image is about 460 cm wide, so on a hall wall 2–3 metres wide the middle part with the widest leaf and its neighbours will fit.
