QUARTZ STILLNESS - pastel horse wall mural for living rooms and bedrooms

Powder pink, pearl grey and cream laid out in flat, broad patches, and among them a horse with a lowered head, standing so calmly that you notice it only after a moment. It is a wall in pastels, with a single dark accent on the left.

What can you see in the design?

In QUARTZ STILLNESS a pale horse with a pink-grey coat stands facing right and lowers its head. The ear reaches almost to the top edge, the muzzle falls roughly halfway up the wall, and the whole head with the neck lies to the right of the centre of the picture. The mane is darker, brown-violet. The body fills the middle; the rump stands out against a dark, navy-green patch at the left edge, from which rusty streaks run down. The legs reach the bottom edge, and the hooves are not visible. The background is made of flat planes of powder pink, grey, blue and cream, and the right part of the picture is almost empty, cream. The paint looks as if it had been laid on with a broad, flat brush and a palette knife, so the horse is built from patches, not from an outline. The scale is large: on a wall 260 cm high with the full crop (about 460 cm wide), the distance from ear to muzzle is about 130 cm, and the back sits about 190 cm above the floor.

How does it differ from similar designs?

The Horses collection also shows a standing horse in QUIET SENTINEL, PALE VIGIL and RAVEN ON SAGE, but there the head is raised and turned to the room. Here the horse looks down, straight ahead, so it does not seek contact with the viewer. The palette is different too: instead of beige, grey-beige or sage green you get pink set against navy.

Which interiors suit it?

In a living room the colours of the picture return in a wool sofa in a shade of powder pink, a grey marble coffee table and one navy cushion; light ash or oak on the floor completes the cream of the background. In a bedroom the design has a calming effect, because the horse stands with its head bowed and most of the wall is made of light, softened colours – cream linen bedding and a heather-coloured throw are enough. The third interior is a bathroom with pink terrazzo and grey stone, where the dark patch on the left makes a backdrop for a white bathtub. Place the bed, the sofa or the bathtub on the left and in the middle: they will cover the legs and the lower body. The head reaches halfway up the wall, so do not put anything taller than a low bench beneath it.

How do you choose the size and the material?

A pastel horse wall mural is a single image printed to the size of your wall, and you choose the dimensions, the material and the crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. The horse alone needs about 2.4 m of width. On a wall narrower than about 3.4 m decide what stays in the crop: the navy patch on the left or the empty, cream part on the right.
