REEDBED - wall mural with dense reeds on a grey background

Three broad clumps of reeds fill the wall from the floor almost to the ceiling, their feathery plumes forming a dense grey curtain. The image has no single point that draws the eye, so the room grows quiet: your gaze drifts across the soft lines as it would across a reed bed at the water's edge. The colour is left to your furniture and fabrics.

What does the design show?

The largest clump takes up the left half of the image, and its darkest, grey-olive plumes gather just left of centre. The second clump stands to the right of the centre, the third close to the right-hand edge. The plumes are made of fine, thread-like sprigs that overlap and form a dense mesh; towards the bottom they turn into pale, thin stems that almost blend into the background. The background is light grey and pearly white, and in the upper band pale veins and streaks appear, reminiscent of marble or reflections on water. The drawing has a painterly texture: the strokes are soft and slightly blurred, like a sketch on distressed paper.

On a wall 260 cm high, the clumps reach about 240 cm, and a single upper plume is about 100 cm long. The whole image is then about 460 cm wide, and the left clump alone about 220 cm, so from the far end of the room you see the plumes as large, full sprays rather than a small repeat pattern.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a library or study, the grey of the reeds pairs with light oak, teak and cognac leather. The design does not compete with colourful book spines, and the warm light of a lamp beside an armchair brings out the olive tone of the plumes. In an entrance hall the image is visible from the door: from a few metres away the clumps form a soft silhouette, and up close a mesh of fine lines. A slim console or a pouffe will at most cover the pale stems at the bottom. In a restaurant or café, the design stretched along a long wall of the dining room calms the interior and goes well with grey wool, linen and wood. It looks best in Scandinavian, Japandi and calm modernist interiors, where the furniture comes in natural colours and accessories are few.

How do you choose the size and material?

REEDBED is a single image printed to the size of your wall. You enter the width and height in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page and set the crop there: on a narrow wall you can keep just the dark clump on the left of the image or shift the crop to the two lighter clumps on the right. As our main materials we recommend Canvas and Intonaco, with Sabbia and Natur as alternatives.

Greys look different on screen than on the wall, so start with a sample: you can order a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials from the product page, and we will send it within 1–3 working days. Hold it against the wall in the morning and in the evening, compare the colours with your floor and furniture, and check the texture of the material. On the product page you can also create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room, and on request we will prepare a studio visualisation within 1–2 working days. If you prefer a warmer background or a different arrangement of the clumps, our studio will adapt the composition, colours and crop to your interior.
